Edit: Haha alright clearly you don’t know how your tournaments work or any other. When you enter these tournaments you get only ONE starter deck only, it’s a launch event you couldn’t buy them yet. If I or my friends could’ve just went to yours or any store/Lgs and buy it then I would have. I have great friends but I don’t expect them to give me their only deck.
And I have no idea why you brought up scalping cause that makes ZERO sense. Did you even read what I wrote? I said I couldn’t stay for the whole event cause I had WORK! I told them I had time to play one round or more depending on how long the matches were. So bringing up scalping doesn’t make sense at all cause I would be OPENING the cards to play plus it’s a random starter deck that I only get ONE of. You would have to be the dumbest scalper in the world to pay 50 dollars to enter a tourney for a RANDOM starter deck that is 15.00 msrp that is opened.
FYI a couple days later I drove all the way to Maine to weekend anime and games (amazing store awesome people) and was able to get one, limit one per person 15.00 bucks plus tax, if needed I have receipts. They also run tournaments for every tcg for anyone interested. I won’t be back to jetpack.
I tried to enter the prerelease gundam event today mind you there is only one event. When trying to pay I told them ahead of time that I had work and that I wouldn’t be able to stay for the whole event and they denied me entry even tho there was space to enter the event. I even told them I would wait till the event started to make sure I wasn’t taking someone else’s spot who could play the whole event and still denied. Now I won’t be able to play with my friends this weekend or collect the cards. As this was the only event close by and not a lot of stores carry this product. I’ve been going to jetpack for like 15 plus years and that’s how they treat you. Idk if I’ll be back :/. The employee I spoke with was nice tho. Lesson learned if I ever come back just don’t tell them anything pay and leave. Really bummed out that I’m...
Read moreI spent 30 minutes in the dollar room looking for comics. I only found 5, as it appears there has been nothing new added in nearly a month. When I walked back into the main part of the store an employee asked to see my books. I didn't think anything of it, as I know they like to keep the dollar comics separate from the newer ones. A couple of minutes later the same guy comes over to me and hands me 1 of the 5 comics back saying the other 4 didn't belong outback, because other copies were still out front. He continued to say that people had been "hiding" comics out back, and coming back to buy them for a dollar a few days later. As he put my "hidden" copies of DC Bombshells issue # 6 and 11 back on the shelf, I pointed out that there were multiple copies of those same two issues in the back room still "hidden" in the "D" section. He said, "We'll IF that's true, I'll have to go grab them too." I then tried to point out that there were often multiple copies of comics in the dollar room that were also still out front, including the issue # 15 of Marvel's Star Wars that he also took from me, but he cut me off before I could finish, saying, "Dude. I know what I'm doing." After which, I walked back into the dollar room, put the only comic I was apparently going to be allowed to buy back in it's place, Green Lantern: New Guardians # 21, and left the store. I intended to spend about $40 that day, but after being essentially accused of stealing, I spent zero. Now Ralph, I know you are going to accuse me of "hiding behind my keyboard" but what was I supposed to do? You are never there when I'm there, and Rich, who is probably the nicest guy in the whole New England comic scene, wasn't there either. I guess I'll just have to stick with Stairway, Chris's, and Comically. PS. Typical Ralph, all you ever do is make fun of people when they dare to criticize your store. Don't prompt people to rate your store on a public forum, if you can't handle the criticism. But don't worry, I'm sure you can find more relatives and girlfriends to give...
Read moreFirst time, after being in multiple comic stores with gaming areas in several states, that my 10yr son is considered unattended or left alone because he is at an adjacent table and not at the same table as me. Nor do I really understand what is so abhorrent about him quietly with his headphones on his phone or on my laptop, quietly not disturbing anyone, while I game some like 5 feet away from him especially when there are plenty of open tables and chairs. I could understand if he was actually loud and bothering others or if the room is full. That doesn't strike me as friendly as you claim your store is, nor is it accommodating towards parents who have kids who just may not want to game but it's not ok to leave them alone. That doesn't even touch upon at least be able or willing to talk more to the person when they are a disabled veteran and have made it know known and are just wanting a little courtesy and don't need someone to tell them what is best for their kid. Maybe their kid is doing great and rather play on his phone or laptop then a board game with a bunch of strangers, even if one isn't and is his dad. Maybe his kid is autistic, he is, and so his dad actually does know best rather then some volunteer who has no idea and when the dad gets, while still being respectful, upset and tells the volunteer don't worry bout him, thanks but no thanks for 'advice'. The owner wouldn't just tell him he is no longer welcomed for gaming despite them having no issues with anyone except for that volunteer and doesn't even interact with that volunteer except for some questions about rules about the game, rules that even fellow players there and in the Adventure League Discord community at large have even stated the volunteer was wrong. But hey, your business but I don't see that being a good business model for parents bringing in young kids who would have been going for years and the kids growing up would've also and now... well, to each their...
