The wife and I love hitting up thrift stores in the area to see what we can find. It's always like a treasure hunt. I bring this up to highlight the point that we've been to this store off and on for quite some time now. We've noticed recently that prices have started to skyrocket to what you'd see at antique stores. This was very evident today when my wife was there and saw a piece of framed art that had been in the window for weeks. She had been on the fence before but decided to go ahead and get it this time as it actually had a reasonable price of 6 bucks. She went to check out and the person ringing her up makes a snarky comment about how 6 bucks wasn't high enough and she needed to check with her manager. 5 minutes later after just leaving my wife at the register, she comes back without the item and says the manager agreed 6 bucks wasn't enough. No mention of what price they were going to change it to, and even mentioned it wasn't their price tag. I'm assuming they were accusing my wife of putting a fake price on the item. She didn't even bother asking what they wanted for it now and just left. Come-on guys, you get free junk to sell in order to try and build homes for people in need. Are you raising prices to get more money to build more houses or have you found a way to pocket some of it? This greediness isn't going to work well in the long run. At any rate, we're done giving these stores a chance. It isn't just this one being run like this, all of them in the Charlotte area are. Rock Hill just so happened to be...
Read moreVery upset with this location. I have always enjoyed going into this particular store. The staff has always been very nice, until today when I decided to bring in my pet companion, Esther, with me into the store AFTER reading their “NEW PET FRIENDLY POLICY”. The new manager, can’t remember her name(had brown hair), flagged me down with her hands and told me that my Esther could not be in there with me. I told her that the website says they had a new pet friendly policy and she insisted that they didn’t. So I then walked my Esther back to the car and found the policy on the website and went back in to show her. That is when she informed me that she was the new manager and that she needed to make a call to have that new policy taken down off line and that she had changed it. My spouse and I go here all the time, but Probably won’t be back to this location and will go somewhere else that honors the policy. We were excited to shop together. I understand if dogs are not allowed, just wish it was not online if the new manager changed it and I believe it should be honored if not updated on the website yet. At least that is what most good managers/business owners do. Just a friendly dog owner for a sweet loving dog and wanted to shop for some good deals at a place that had a supposedly “NEW PET FRIENDLY POLICY” just guess NOT IN...
Read moreI live over a hour away. I do stop by this location every few months when I am in the area. Today was the worst experience I have EVER had at a Habitat Restore. They have signs posted “bring your own moving help”. I wasn’t planning on buying any furniture. I did find a bed frame that I wanted. It was assembled. It would fit in my SUV but I did not know how to take it apart. It had bolts like I had never seen before. Another customer was attempting to help me but he was having a hard time with the bolts himself. The RUDE lady working there kept standing over us saying she couldn’t help (I didn’t expect her to BE any help) she wanted me to go pay for the bed before we tried taking it apart. If I wasn’t able to take it apart I would just loose my $. She reminded me 50 times that “they” could not help me. I have purchased many items from many different Restore locations. They are usually happy to make the sale & very helpful! Not this location. I understand being short staffed but wanting me to pay for something before I even knew if I could disassemble it. I left empty handed (1st time ever) & frustrated. I do not recommend this location to any women who aren’t carrying a tool box around with them. Again, I guess they aren’t trying...
