Worse experience of my life !Went there to enjoy a salad and ended up calling the police. We ordered a salad ,burger, and two margarita slush. The waitress said there was liquor in the mix but came back and asked if we wanted Tito’s or patron bc it was cheaper. We said tequila bc it’s a margarita. My salad came out was wrong but the waitress apologized and brought a plate to pick out the blue cheese. My partner had two sips of her drink she partner felt dizzy and stopped drinking. She went get air bc of the nausea. I told the waitress about the drink when she brought the check. The drink was full. I asked for the manager and she took her precious time. She rudely said we don’t refund dinks and I asked her where this information written on the menu? She said it’s industry standard. I said Customer satisfaction is standard. The owner comes over and I explained again and he offered to re mix my existing drink and mix with something else which is crazy/dangerous. Why would I want to drink it when the person who ordered it was is the car sick. I called the police to get options. I tried to step out to the patio to get air and wait on the police but 5 employees rushed me and one had a payment kiosk asking me to pay now. I told them that I was not leaving but willing to pay once the $12 was removed from my tab. I told them going to check on my partner bc she left sick and is also handicapped. They finally let me step outside but they followed with the owner. By this time I’m furious bc these people had no idea what they were doing. I stated that I will pay my bill minus the drink bc it was too strong to drink. The racist owner did all this to avoid removing $12 for a drink that was not made right. The male and female officer said I could leave. If 5 gangster employees rushed into your personal space without understanding your experience it’s going to trigger you. They don’t pay them well but do they have to fight for scraps? Im contacting the city of Rockhill and the abc board as they are over pouring. People are intoxicated and being served here. Ive been a licensed bartender for over 20 years. I’m also a licensed professional with credentials so I was not going to jail over a racist act. I’m not poor and don’t expect anything for free as this racist man assumed. The waitress did nothing wrong initially and I was planning to tip her when the $12 was removed but decided to not even explain that my salad was messed up she was concerned about Gods know what. No policy was listed on either menu. I have come here many times abs have seen the menu change even when they started charging for ranch they lost ever so why not the liquor policy for people that can read. I’m contacting the ABL because it’s illegal to serve someone who is showing signs of intoxication as well as over pouring. If liquor is in the mix why were we asked to add patron? If I didn’t demand respect I would have rolled over but I’m going to defend myself. I shouldn’t have to be on guard while trying to have a nice dinner. Racial trauma. 5 white people one of them being a nasty gay man jumped in my face spewing out she gonna have to pay for this not knowing anything that let up to me stepping outside. Just starting and pointing but where were they when my food was being prepared incorrectly or my drink was being mis poured? If I’m given a final bill minus the drink that was messed up I’ll pay it but no one is going to mistreat me and think it’s ok. I have rights in...
Read moreToday my children and I decided to give Towne Tavern a try. We had planned to order to-go and it went like this. First my son went in to get a to go menu. After deciding we were getting wings and a few other items we went in to place our order. As we were standing at the to go counter waiting for someone who could help us we noticed that there were several empty boothes and tables. Someone finally came over to "help" But instead we were immediately told the wait time would be 1 hour. Maybe a few minutes longer. I explained that we were just placing a to go order. And she said. yeah that's what I mean. An hour for to go orders. WAIT WHAT?!? AN HOUR? No thanks! After walking back to the car we decided we would call it in and come back to pick it up. Keep in mind I had a paper menu in my hand.. I called to place the order but asked about the kids menu. First. It was so loud they couldn't hear me so everytime I said something I had to repeat it. So again I asked about the kids menu. I was told that I would need to go online to view their menu. I explained that I was sitting in their parking lot ready to place an order.. Again she said. ."All of our menus are online. You will need to go online. " Again I explained that I was in the parking lot with their paper menu in hand and asked if she was instructing me to hang up... .lookup their menu. .call back and place the order. Her reply.. I'm busy. Wow. .really? Is this the best customer service you have to offer? Had there been a line out the door and every table full I could understand.. But when you have empty tables and room at the bar what makes you too busy to provide even decent customer service???? My kids and I were looking forward to trying out this establishment but thanks to the customer service, or lack there of.. We will not be customers once..much less twice. This experience was very disappointing to the point that my kids just wanted to go home and eat a sandwich. Thanks for the disappointing Friday night...
Read moreLast Saturday town Tavern in rock Hill helped us say goodbye to my father who sadly passed a way after a battle with cancer the previous Friday.
I called them Wednesday of that week, hoping that they would have a space for us because everywhere else was booked for graduation parties. I told them our situation with my father’s passing, and that we needed a place to land after the memorial for people to gather and reminisce. The owner Rob responded so quickly to my request to book the bar. Later when we spoke on the phone about how the night would go I was so grateful for how accommodating and sympathetic he was. Kindness should never be overlooked in today’s world. They had all of our food and drinks prepared exactly when they said they would and went above and beyond. The food was hot and fresh and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed which is exactly what we all needed. The owner even gifted us a beautiful bouquet as a centerpiece for my family’s table that he made himself. (Photo of bouquet added to review) Our server Kai was so kind and an expert at chasing my loud and consistently in motion family around with their drink and food orders. We so appreciate all of his hard work that night.
Although it’s not the usual place to mourn after a service, it was perfect for us. Being able to laugh, cry, drink, eat and of course watch some sports was healing in a way ..It was the type of family gathering my father would have loved to attend. I cannot thank the owner and staff at towne tavern in rock hill enough for helping make an incredibly sad day a...
