Not a normal Chinese Restaurant.. just a take out ....Please This place is basically a take-out Chinese place, so take not.. do not be deceived with Table and Chairs.. and the guy that I met was very not courteous. My son came to Rock Hill SC for #FBU Top GUN and we decided to search for Chinese restaurant close to our hotel. Based on google search, we settled for China Kitchen. As we walked in, the guy met us with some confusing statement, " do you know what you". I did not quite get the statement and I asked him to repeat it, which he did. I was taken back when he repeated it.. I think he is used to this welcoming statement, because he made the same statement to two ladies that came in after us. But let me go back to my narrative, he asked us to find our seat and seat anywhere we like, and we did by ourselves.
When he came, he put a plastic fork and the usual Chinese paper tray. I was shocked but kept quite. He asked for our drink, which we did. He then came with plastic cup and asked that we helped ourselves with drinks from the dispenser.
As he walked past me, I was forced to ask a question, just to confirm my observation, that it seems he is not used to dine-in customers based on the type of utensils he put forth. He was defensive, "you're the first person that ever asked or complained about the plastic fork", he says. Further explanation was just a barrage of excuses, like saying.. he does not have anyone to wash the spoon..this is not a normal restaurant. ( I am glad he confirmed my curiosity). He even tried to lure two gentlemen into the conversation by soliciting their to explain his cause. At this time, I was already fed up and lost appetite for his food. When he brought my food, I could not reject the food out rightly but asked him to donate it to any needy and that I will pay. He then tried to offer it to the two gentlemen in the store.. Read moreI used to have a five star review for this place but now I'm bringing it down to two I have been a reoccurring customer for over two years at this particular location. I ordered my to go food 35 minutes before I even got to the restaurant. I get there and then wait 10 more minutes and still have not gotten my food 45 minutes go by so I walk out. I don't understand why you will not hire another employee to help in the kitchen. Are you that stingy with your money that you're willing to lose a customer that comes in very frequently to your establishment? I suppose that answer to my question is yes. The sad part is is that I actually like the food otherwise I would've gave you one star. Until you get more help I'll never order food here again. It's ridiculous. You try to run the kitchen, register and tables that come in to sit down and eat. I have mentioned before that things would go much smoother if you had one extra set of hands and will also give you less stress overall. You know me by my first name that's how often I use to come in. I hope this will warn people that it's very rare that you will get your food quickly. I shouldn't have to order 45 minutes in advance to get Chinese food that's insane! I'm usually not one to complain ever and I was fine with order 20-30 minutes in advance because anytime i come there i know my food won't be ready in 15 minutes when I get there even after you say over the phone...
Read moreMy wife and I used to be loyal customers here, but not anymore. Every time you order food from here they lie and tell it will take 15 minutes, when it actually takes much longer than that. I've called my food in at least 2 hours in advance before and still had to wait for him to finish making it when I got there. This is not the case with any other take out place. Also he is rude to his customers. I had questioned him about something I ordered once and he got an attitude with me. I had ordered something that was supposed to have shrimp in it but I saw none. So he told me that they were on the bottom. So I checked and they were. But while I was checking he asked why I didn't trust him. So I told him "I could do without the attitude". This guy should be glad he has the amount of customers he does since there a lot of choices for not only Chinese food but other food as well around here. Also my advice to anyone who orders food from here is that you should check your food over carefully before you pay for it because he won't fix it for you if you've already paid. Sometimes he won't fix it either way. He told me I should have gotten food somewhere else and the the reason why it takes so long is because he has many customers.
