Top Shape Gym — Attraction in Rock Island

I had called, as well as went into the gym (in Moline by HyVee) in person, to view the gym and gather information. Unfortunately, the young female trainer was not friendly, and in all honesty, what I perceived as rude. One person was nice, but the young woman who was the trainer, was rude. I had called back to the gym at a later date to ask more questions, and this young female trainer was extremely rude. That experience alone, unfortunately, made my decision to not sign up. I even attempted to communicate with an owner to express concern on the unfriendly, very rude, demeanor of this young female trainer, with no calls back, after a staff member at another location had left a message with the owner that I was requesting a call to speak with them. Very disappointed.

I am not a young teen, but an adult woman who has been working with trainers and exercising for years in nice gyms for years, and was new to the area. I can honestly share in all my years of experience with gyms, I have never experienced such a snotty and rude personality as I perceived from this young lady who was the one and only trainer at this facility location. What a shame, as it was a decent facility. I thought it poor the owner did not call me as well, to listen to a potential member’s concerns. While this experience was months back, I have not went...

Rock Island - Great numbers of machines for accessory lifts. Older plates with great balance mixed with unbalanced newer ones. Good for experienced lifters. Barbells are mostly antique and feel harder to work with. Bench had one fresh greased the other day.

Curl bars are a wide variety.

Women will love the glute machines and Smith barbell rack.

Step up metal frames, two sets of dumbell racks.

Plenty of squat racks.

3-4 flat benches and incline both ways benches.

There's also stair stepper, treadmills, ellipticals.

Very good access to equipment of a wide variety....

I can only speak for the Rock Island location, as a former member under the previous ownership i came back to find that everything is the same as it was 20 years ago, right down to the pictures on the wall which is a good thing, it has always been the best gym around by far, the fact that i can get a workout at 4 am before work is a huge bonus, the only reason its not a 5 star review is the fact some equipment could use some repair but id still rather come here than...
