Hidden Treasures Mall & Antiques — Attraction in Rockford Township

This store and Crystal Edge, vendor booth 97, are both a joke. Do not purchase from Crystal in booth 97. She posted a buffet for sale on her personal Facebook which I saw in the marketplace. At first, I had no idea this item was located in a store. I messaged her on a Monday about the buffet. She went to the store and measured it for me so I could make sure that it would fit a spot in our house. By Wednesday it was agreed upon that it was mine and that I would pick it up first thing Saturday morning knowing that I had a 2 1/2 drive one way. She made me confirm that I would be there before she went to the store to mark it sold. I confirmed and she told me she would go to the store and mark it sold. I was at the store at exactly 10 on Saturday morning when they opened only to find that the buffet was marked SOLD to another buyer. Coincidentally, Crystal was there dropping off other items. I explained to her that someone else’s name was on the SOLD sticker. She said, “Oh, the store must’ve sold it yesterday.” I replied, “Well you sold it to me on Wednesday through Facebook and that I drove 2 1/2 hours to pick it up.” She stated she didn’t know what to do and that she would go talk to the manager on how to fix this. I waited in her booth for 45 minutes only to find out she left the store when I went upfront to find her. YES, she left the store and left me standing there after she told me to wait in her booth and she’d be right back. At this point I was livid. While the manager was in the phone wit my her another vendor told me that this wasn’t the first time this has happened to Crystal. While we were talking Crystal was texting the other vendor and asked if I had left the store so she could come back and finish dropping her items off. I showed the vendor and the manager my Facebook messages because Crystal was telling the manager an entire different story about how I was irate that the item was sold and showed up to get it anyway...absolutely not! Why would someone drive a 332 mile round trip for something that is sold? She panicked and left the store so she didn’t have to handle the situation. Anyway, the store couldn’t fix the issue. I asked for gas money and the manager offered me a gift card only if I used it that day...YES, only if I used it that day...BULL! I declined as it was already 12:45 and I had a long drive home yet. I was very impressed with the store when I first walked in, however, after being treated this way I will NEVER go back to that store. It’s a loss for them as my wife and I would’ve definitely purchased a lot of items to furnish the Victorian home we recently purchased. I do want to thank the other vendor I spoke with for trying to find a solution to the situation even though it wasn’t her problem or issue to solve. Don’t waste your money or your time there! I’ve enjoyed shopping at Hidden Treasures antique mall for years. One of my favorite boots in there Has a lot of hippie and Boho type of clothing purses scarves Artwork type of piece pieces when I was there yesterday I had about 20 items from their booth in my cart and I went to the bathroom to try on all of the clothing as I have in the past while I was in there one of the employees came in who happen to be the manager and she told me that I’m not allowed to try on the clothing in the bathroom which is why they have signs posted about that and so then I asked her how am I supposed to know if the items will fit She suggested putting the clothing on on top of the clothing that I was wearing (I had jeans on and a heavier top) which obviously Is not the ideal situation. Cell I Brought all Back to my cart. I then went up to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager which it just happened to be the same employee That was in the bathroom telling me that I needed to leave and that I can’t try on clothing in there I stated I had already tried on two pieces that fit that I was really in love with and I would’ve loved to have had the opportunity to try on the rest of the clothing cause it was totally just my style unfortunately she had no suggestions other than putting the clothing on top of what I was currently wearing so the vendor could’ve sold over $450 worth of her clothing unfortunately due to the stores policy I left my cart with all of the clothing there and I left I will also not return to the store which is unfortunate for both me and for both them I have spent thousands and thousand of dollars there during about the past 10 years so to all the vendors out there that I’ve enjoyed shopping from sorry that I will no longer be able to buy products from you in the future I’m especially bummed about my hippie boho booth you guys will be missed perhaps the store might eventually adopt a new policy how about letting your customers try on the clothing that they want to purchase especially since the store does not allow any returns.
