I see a lot of older reviews that say really good things. Something has changed. When I went into the store the sales staff was friendly, professional, and seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy. My sales experience was so good that based on the sale I recommended the store to friends, who also purchased appliances here. And then things started to go wrong.
On my first delivery date the delivery team walked into my home and told me 'it wont fit, there's no point in bringing it in.' I had discussed this with the sales team, and had signed a waiver agreeing to purchase the refrigerator even if it didn't fit. The manufacturer provided dimensions for my appliance that would barely fit through my kitchen door. We discussed that if the refrigerator didn't fit through the kitchen door that they would leave it (in my adjacent dining room) and I'd have the kitchen door casing removed and we could fit it through then. while this may be unusual, I discussed all this with the sales team and paid double for delivery. The delivery team were very rude and nasty, insisted I didn't know what I was talking about. I noticed a dent in the refrigerator door that the driver insisted was my responsibility, not the store's. I refused the refrigerator, the delivery team left, and I called the store sales team. The sales team apologized, said the delivery team was wrong, said they would get the door fixed and re-deliver the fridge.
After repair, the sales team called to schedule a second delivery. Prior to the delivery date, the delivery team called and insisted that I sign a 'damage waiver' or they wouldn't deliver the refrigerator. I refused and they cancelled the delivery. I called the store, and was told that no one could help me because the person I bought the refrigerator from was on vacation. They'd call me when they got back in town. When they came back to town, they said I could sign the damage waiver or they would leave the refrigerator outside. Take it or leave it.
After, much discussion, they sales team agreed to require their delivery personnel to perform our original agreement. A third date was schedule, and the delivery team brought the fridge, and did leave it my dining room, as we originally planned. Three days later I called to schedule the final installation and removal of my old refrigerator, paying the delivery charge for a third time.
On the final delivery day the delivery team seemed determined to be rude and disrespectful. They arrived early and refused to wait the additional 15 minutes to their scheduled time. So I was rushing to get all my food out of my old fridge while they were taking it apart. They couldn't be bothered to wipe their feet an tracked mud across my dining room and kitchen, despite my putting out a rug for them to wipe on. When taking out the old refrigerator, they ran it into my wall twice, saying 'oops' and laughing. They refused to connect to a manufacturer approved water line insisting that 'they just do do that, that's just they way it is.' Their leveling of my fridge consisted of them complaining about how bad my floor was and spinning an adjuster out as far as it could go. None of the internal packaging was removed, the fridge wasn't tested to make sure it was functioning.
After they left, I got out the owners manual, and took the refrigerator apart, connected it to the water line, properly leveled it, properly adjusted the doors, took it through the start up process and verified that it was functioning. The last straw was a missing part. I had seen the delivery team with it in their hand, but it was nowhere to be found after they left. I did find the screw that should attach the part on the other side of my kitchen after they left.
I called the store two hours after they left to try and get the part. The delivery staff told the sales staff that they had installed the part and that I was lying. I had to purchase the replacement part from the manufacturer on my own. I'm out of characters for this review, but my friends experience was the same. ...
Read moreTotally unprofessional. Don't believe the salesmen in that place. I am writing this review to save people from the same mistake I made. I listened to the salesman's recommendation for a new washer. I asked for a top loading agitator machine that washed very dirty clothes well (dirt from outdoor sports and gardening). He sold me a Speed Queen, said he swears by them, blah, blah, blah. I ended up with the worst washing machine I have ever had (and I am 68-yrs old, so I have had a few machines!). It just does NOT clean! No matter how much pre-treating, how much laundry soap, laundry boosters, bleach, which ever cycle I use, clothes still come out stained and dirty! I have to use 3 times more products than before, I have to use 3 times more water than before because I have to run the machine at least three times for the clothes to come out a little bit less dirty (but never really clean - see the photo below after 3 washes and all the products and cycles used). The machine was not more expensive than the others I was considering, so the salesman must get a higher commission on these, I don't know why they would recommmend it because they are lousy. And I don't even think it's an agitator, but works with vibrations or something like that, lousy! They are supposed to be for commercial laundrymat so I assumed they were very efficient. So now I am stuck with this horrible machine because I listen to a salesman who did not listen to my request to have a machine that cleans very dirty clothes well. Also, he told me once delivered I could not return it! That should have been a warning to me. And come to think of it, a few years back I bought a second fridge from them (Haier brand) which started leaking inside after a while but no one knows why or can fix it (i have had 3 different expert repairmen check it out). So, based on these two experiences, not a good place to buy your appliances, really! Save yourselves the trouble, avoid this place like the plague! RESPONSE TO APPLIANCE LAND RESPONSEl: The response from Appliance Land is appalling, suggesting I don't know how to use a washing machine! They want to help me with the selection of the options. Well, I have used all the available options and even those suggested by the salesman -- and which are not options on the machine -- such turning on the cycle, and turning it off when the water has filled, to let it soak. So yes, I have tried all the options. These machines are , I found out today, "inverter" technology, and if you read about this new technology (I didn't know about), it is said that it is good for delicate clothing (not my case), i.e. it does not clean well very dirty cloth that need an agitator. So, why would the salesman recommend it to me after I have said I have heavily soiled clothes to wash. This is bad business! The salesman should know about the new "impeller" technology and should have told me that if you have very diry clothes to wash, you should not get an impeller or an inverter machine. So buyers beware, they'll sell you anything,...
Read moreBackground: We have been ApplianceLand customers since 2002 and have purchased at least two sets of a washer/dryer, a microware and a deepfreeze from them.
My wife and I came into the store in mid-July to purchase a refrigerator. We ended up buying a $2500 Bosch along with $130 installation and removal fees and the extended service plan for a total of about $3000.
I was transparent with the salesperson that we would be buying the 36 inch refrigerator but that our kitchen doorways were smaller so the doors would need to be removed and reinstalled once the refrigerator was in place. I wanted assurance that this wouldnât be an issue for the installers and if there were additional fees that needed to be paid, I was happy to do so. The salesperson assured me it would be done, and no additional fees would be required. Prior to the delivery, I also removed the doors from the old refrigerator so the installers wouldnât have to waste time with that and could just carry the old refrigerator out.
Later that week the installers arrive and immediately start talking about additional charges for having to remove and install the doors (which I was never charged). So, who was lying, the salesperson or the installers? Once they were done, they quickly went over the features of the fridge and then asked me to sign the ApplianceLand get-out-jail-free paperwork that states once they walk out the door, ApplianceLand is no longer responsible for the refrigerator. Looking at the refrigerator, everything looks fine and there are no visible issues. However, I am not an appliance expert, thatâs why I paid ApplianceLand to deliver and install the refrigerator assuming they would do it in a correct and professional manner. I even tipped the installers. No good deed goes unpunished. A few days go by, and my wife notices there is frost building up in the freezer drawer. After getting down on our hands and knees and looking under the fridge, we realize the freezer drawer is not closing flush with the freezer cabinet. I contacted the salesperson and described the issue, and he suggested that maybe we have the freezer turned down too cold. I said ânoâ, thereâs a visible gap between the freezer door and the freezer. He says Iâll have to contact Bosch. Long story short, it takes two months to get an appointment with Bosch. They show up in early September and we describe the issue and the technician asks who installed the refrigerator. ApplianceLand, we said. After about 20 minutes, he has the freezer drawer adjusted and it now properly closes. So, my question is, are the ApplianceLand installers unqualified or lazy⌠or perhaps both? In any event, the whole experience has left us extremely disappointed with the services provided by ApplianceLand and their lack of professionalism. This will be the last time we set foot in ApplianceLand. I would also suggest to ApplianceLand management that they should get their salespeople and installers in the same room and coordinate on what lies that they are telling the customers. Otherwise, itâs just a bad...
