Betty Long Unruh Theater — Attraction in Roseburg

I've seen three plays here and have had the opportunity to sit in three different sections of this small theater with the front row of seats on the same level (floor) as the stage. The front row gives you a more intimate feel for simple productions but does not afford an overall view of more complex layouts with changing sets. The seats are very narrow with little leg room. I had knee replacement surgery fairly recently and, after a 2 1/2 hour production, I felt the pain for some time. It's unassigned seating so plan accordingly and get there early if you desire a center and/or front row seat. If you do choose to or have to sit in the upper rows, beware: it is hot and stuffy. The most amazing thing about this community is that whether I was a background character or lead I was always treated equally and with respect. Amazing performance today of my favorite Christmas show, It's A Wonderful Life. Never having been to this theater, I did not know what to expect, and was absolutely blown away by the terrific talent there. This show exceeded my expectations as it provided an artistic view to a classic story, while keeping in tact the wonderful sentimental allurement that has endeared generations for so many years.
