La Cocina — Restaurant in Roseburg

I was hoping for authentic Mexican food experience and La Cocina made good on their promise. La Cocina is family owned and operated with humble and friendly service. The place is immaculate with tasteful decor and traditional music. I loved the bowl of keychain dolls made by Abuela who was hard at work behind the counter. We ordered chilaquiles and a Mexican Bowl w/carne asada. Both were delicious and were decent portions. The agua de melon was excellent and made in house. The green salsa had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. I can’t wait to try the pastor and then work my way through the menu. We have a lot of Mexican food options in Roseburg that people love, but this one is set apart in my opinion and I hope that they maintain the vibe and stay true...

The food here is excellent and so is the service. I do not eat at other mexican restaurants in town except Tino’s Tacos. No disrespect to anyone else, but I’ve been waiting for this restaurant to open for a long time. Glad they finally did and the wait was worth it. Also, as it relates to the previous 2 star review, I would encourage everyone to read his other reviews. It looks like marijuana dispensaries and McDonald’s are his main 5 star reviews. Let’s leave being a “food critic” to other folks who know a little bit more about quality food instead of a 5 star McDonald’s...

Don't sleep on this place!!!! Just because they have a great vegetarian option doesn't mean that the traditional menu is bland. On the contrary, the traditional menu sends you to your abuelas house and if it doesn't, well that's another story. Make sure you ask for spicy salsa to give your meal an extra kick of deliciousness!! Had the carne asada burrito and the mix of the rice, beans, and cheese I thought I was with my grandmother.
