The Human Bean — Restaurant in Roseburg

My wife and I and our son frequent the Roseburg Human Bean on Harvard. We drive through this location nearly every single day. We love the service and the drinks here over the other location, they just seem to always get it right and the drinks are AMAZING!

We drove through Monday May 26th for our memorial Day weekend fun day and the girl at the window was new. We order a very standard coffee, and when we ordered, she asked us what is in that coffee. When she rang us up, she told us the total was $15 for one blended 32 oz and one blended 12 oz drink. It seemed like a couple dollars more than usual so we asked her how much they were and she said she didn't know and then looked to find the prices. Once we left, we drove away and tried our drinks, they were very strong tasting and not very good. The woman appeared to scan our app but even after 24 hours, no points.

We drove through this morning and saw the usual girls working who made an amazing drink as always and provided us with a free drink as resolution for how unhappy we were. To the girl who helped us on Monday May 26th, perhaps she needs a little more training if she is new. We greatly appreciate every single one of you....

When we lived in Roseburg, we'd often visit Human Bean and usually were satisfied with our order. As time went on, the quality of their beverages at this location began to fall (too watered down, not as tasty as before, etc).

The last straw was when we were in town for shopping and ordered a couple of hot beverages. My wife's beverage was okay but before I could drink mine, the lid came off and the very hot coffee scalded me painfully. No, I didn't mishandle my cup, no I didn't fiddle with the top before drinking. The person who prepared my beverage didn't put the top on properly.

I'm not some dum-dum who doesn't know how to handle a cup of coffee -- I drink it at home every day. This was an accident or negligence on the barista's part. When I (politely) wrote Human Bean about this incident, they didn't even bother to say "We're sorry that happened" or "Are you okay?", they just treated me to silence. If you treat me that way, I'm not giving you my business anymore...and I haven't since...

Latte $4:50 flavorless frothy milk! Definitely won’t waste money there again. Don’t usually spend on coffees, but had a great latte in Portland for same price yesterday at sit-down coffee shop and enjoyed it so much… so HB is either using cheap stale coffee or not using enough, to save $$.

Staff was great and added an extra shot when i went back. That gave it a coffee color… But it was still v thin on flavor. None of that nice coffee “mmm”.
