Tuesday, 4/18/2023 - Went to try "The Green Room" restaurant. Heard it was owned by the owner of Bacon & Butter. This is such a cute little restaurant! The decor inside was so cute. Even the bathroom was cutely decorated. Address is 3839 J St, Sacramento, CA 95816 East Sacramento. This restaurant is located by Mercy General Hospital. Upon arrival:

Read moreIt brings me no pleasure to start my day with a review. One because I've never written one and two because I should be working. However, I am still thinking about my meal last night and I need to get the weight of the chicken sandwich off my chest, and (hopefully soon) out of my stomach.
Yesterday, I was let down tremendously. I revered Green Room quickly after its opening. It was a walk away, creatively designed, and in my opinion, had a top 3 chicken sandwich/fries in Sacramento. When I went yesterday, that appeared to no longer be the case. The sandwich was paltry (also poultry), the fries were cold, and the tacos while full of meat, looked like tacos you'd find at a taco truck on the Right side of town.
Moving on from the food, the service was (and I hate putting down the service crew because I understand it can get swamped) sub-par. Waters were not being filled causing me sit in confusion as I wrestled down one of the hottest chicken sandwiches I had ever consumed.
Normally, I'd not find the energy to write a review but it being a local business, I want The Green Room to succeed. I want it to elicit the same feelings I had upon my first visit. I don't want to have to look at the menu and say "oh it looks like prices went up a bit" and get a significantly worse experience. If The Green Room can get back to doing the little things, it shall rise yet again.
Lastly, the soap in the bathroom was the best smelling soap I've ever washed my hands with. For that, I am...
Read moreMan where are all these good reviews coming from? We just went on a Saturday night, sat at the bar, and all I can say is Pass pass pass. This place was the worst cocktails we've had in Sacramento and we were so hyped when it opened because the green room billed itself as a place specifically to get good cocktails. The bartenders didn't even know how to use a bar spoon y'all... it was painful to watch both bartenders fail miserably at making both an old fashioned (bartender put 7-8 dashes of bitters in it) and a highball (smothered in cranberries). We also ordered fried cauliflower which came out less than 3 minutes after we ordered it - so you know it was sitting sitting under some heat lamp. It was like eating the crumbs of popcorn shrimp. No real cauliflower chunks to be found, just fried pebbles of something that may or may not be actual cauliflower. The vibe is so off here folks. I know it's new and they may be having a hard time staffing up, but just don't open so fast until you've got the concept and execution nailed down.
Go to any other number of bars in Sacramento before you dare waste your money on the drinks here. We couldn't even finish them even though I normally do my best to finish before paying so it's not such an obvious insult to...
