We got married here in October this year and it was incredible! It was so beautiful and special. We had ~100 guests but the garden can comfortably fit a lot more. We reserved it for a 3 hour block, which we used for the ceremony and bridal party/ family pictures. Only thing I would do differently is reserve it for longer (adding on another 3 hour block) so that we had more time for pictures and to set up and tear down guest chairs. We brought in the chairs, and our own sound system for the ceremony mics and musics. There’s an outlet box but bring lots of extension cords! We didn’t need to have an arch/ ceremony florals cause the garden was in FULL bloom! It was also a very fair price as it’s a public park. PSA you can email them and reserve the whole garden, and it will be blocked off for just you and your guests! When you reserve it your payment covers private access, staff to monitor the garden, and 3 parking spaces next to the garden (guests utilized free street parking). Lisa, the garden coordinator, was so kind and helpful while we planned our ceremony. Would highly recommend the rose garden for a wedding or any...

The garden gives a nice zen vibe if you are into spiritual things of that nature, and there is plenty of space to pop a squat in the grassy area or provided benches to meditate.
Overall, you can see all there is to see of the garden in about 5 minutes or less if you speed through it, or you can take your time and enjoy each variation of rose the garden has to offer.
I recommend that if you are in the East Sacramento area, you stop by for a look and smell of the roses that the McKinley Rose Garden...
Read moreNEVER HOLD AN EVENT HERE. The event coordinator and their volunteers are some of the rudest and most disrespectful people I have even met. They will treat you like an idiot, elevate situations way beyond necessity and threaten to call the police at the tiniest of situations. Volunteers were emotionally charged and the coordinator was disrespectful beyond belief, even when having a calm, respectful conversation with her. It's really a shame that such awful people are in charge of a place that has the potential to be so beautiful and enjoyable. Oh, and speaking of the beauty of the garden... it was very lack luster with few flowers. I would suggest the State Capitol Park World Peace Rose Garden instead; it's...
