St. Clair Shores Public Library — Attraction in Saint Clair Shores

I remember getting my first library card. I was so short I could not see over the counter. The card was so advanced it looking like a white credit card. It has amazing. It had nothing on the card, nothing at all. It was just a white futuristic plastic card. I was so proud to have been allowed to be apart of the Library. I loved the children's programs. Being read to and puppet shows. I loved it. We had our own section to sit on the floor and look for the perfect book. I still go to this Library I pick up most of my holds here- Clinton Macomb withstanding. The staff is so amazing. They are all very knowledgeable. They are always ready to help. They are considerate of your privacy with any questions asked or topics. I like this Library. I find the reading chairs a little uncomfortable. But that's because you cant wrap up in a blanket and snuggle your cat. All in all easy parking, Nice drive on Jefferson,...

This is a library. They have books. You can read them. They have computers. You can use them*

*You can read them in the library or at your home. **You can only use them in the library. You can not take them to your home.

But seriously this is a nice library. They offer WiFi and plenty of space for quiet study/reading. There is a great local history area in the basement as well as a micro film resource. The library also rents DVD movies and music CDs. Computer terminals make looking up items quick and simple. Even if those items are in another library in the area. You can reserve or order a copy from these terminals. There is a snack area and a used book section. Very disappointed with this library. Librarians aren't usually friendly and are not involved with kids in the kids room. At my last visit a librarian didn't check in one of my books and now I will have to pay for it. I matched every book to the check out receipt as I placed them on the counter and here we are. I couldn't get the books back while having a baby and they wouldn't waive the late fee which would have been a kind gesture. The kids room is very outdated and doesn't have much to offer like other libraries. I can't wait to move out of the city so I can check out books again. We will be using other libraries through family and friends in other cities...
