Nail Boss — Attraction in Saint Louis Park

I've been coming to this salon regularly since the beginning of this summer. I really want to give it 5 stars, but I cannot in good faith do so at this moment. The staff are friendly enough, prices are fair, and the nail work is superb most of the time, but this salon has persistent time management issues. It is very normal to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated after your appointment was supposed to begin. And lately, there have been times in which I wasn't seated until 30 minutes after the appt time. Today was the worst, I waited almost an hour past the start of my appt time before my nails finally got worked on. They were nice enough to give me a discount on the service today due to the inconvenience, but the constant lateness I experience makes me feel like the salon doesn't value my time, but I know that is not true and they are trying their best. I kindly encourage the management team to consider implementing stricter penalties on customers who are late, ask for drastic changes half-way into their service, or do anything else that would cause appt times to be pushed back so that other customers later in the day don't have to...

I've been coming here to Nail Boss since right around the time they opened, in 2023, and can't say enough about how much I like this salon. Having lived in this SLP neighborhood for over 7 years now, I have been to every nail salon in the area and have found it hard to find one that I like enough to want to consistently give my business. Although there are many other places that offer the gel and dip manicures and pedicures I regularly get, I frequently find them to have some combination of the following issues: inconsistent quality resulting in gels or dips "popping off" within a short time after the service, dirty looking salons that don't provide a comfortable atmosphere, rude or unfriendly staff, difficulty getting in for appointments, not taking credit cards, etc. But when Nail Boss opened, it was like the answer to my prayers- friendly staff that do high-quality work they stand behind, in a clean, stylish and comfortable atmosphere, at reasonable prices! They really go above and beyond here. Since coming here, I notice I get compliments on my nails...

I deciced to try this place for the first time yesterday. Bad idea. I told the nail tech what I wanted and she still went ahead and did what SHE wanted. Brings someone else over and tells her it was a "mistake" when she clearly did what I asked her not to right in front of me... then continues doing what she wants.... whatever. Just do what you want so I can leave. I tried my hardest to be nice even when she CUT MY CUTICLE where it was bleeding and burning. Kept commenting on how my hands were too dry for her when we live in MINNESOTA WINTER where everyone has dry skin.... here we are the next day and my gel polish has already chipped... in my sleep no less.... very disappointed.
