You will have a great time when you choose to attend a Baseball Game at CHS field i Located in Beautiful downtown St. Paul, MN you will be watching the new Class. A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. I dare you to go there hungry . They have the fan fair of a major league team. Try the Cuban Sandwich. Very tasty for a to go sandwich ? Ok no we you need an adult beverage . Next , donโt you dare go find your seat ๐ฅฒ You came for the experience right so stay on your feet and check out the stadium watch out for Madooosa the moose .she runs around trying to get the crowd fired up. You should have had at least a half dozen comments on that Cuban your earring and that guy wishes he would have stopped and grabbed one on the way in to the game. As you circle the inside of the stadium. Check out the grassy knoll out in left field, when the stadium first opened you could get a ticket that would allow you to sit out in left field on a great grassy knoll with great views of the players on the field, not some uncomfortable bleacher seat , nope they saved a nice area of grass that the field groomers spent their time to look as good as the field grass. You were allowed to sit in this area for What ???? $5 . What?? Yep you heard it firs hand from your St. Paul Saintโs friend DJ Jazzy Jim who can pledge to you because Team owners including one of the best comedians of the 70โโs and 80โs Mr Animal House him self Mr. Bill Murray wanted all fans of the St, Paul Saints to be able to see them play. ย ย ย Read moreWe've gone to CHS Field for plenty of Saints Games (go! It's a great time). This was our first time going for an event. We went on Friday night to the Glow Festival at CHS Field and WOW! The lights, the mood, the people, the everything- fantastic! The concourse level has food, gift shops, photo ops, individual warming tents to eat or chill in, warming fires to sit around, the enchanted forest (omg love!), and more. It's beautiful to walk (and roll). Plenty of photo ops if you're out with family and looking for your perfect holiday photo also but you'll need a camera that can handle all the sparkly lights. We aren't savvy enough to do that so ours were pretty blurry. The field level has the big slide and zip line on opposite ends. To get to them you go through gorgeous light tunnels and sparkly mazes. I adored the whole time.
Hints: get your tickets thru Groupon - they aren't timed or dated and you save money. Win! Don't go right at 5pm. That's the busiest time to get in. Long lines.
I was able to get around easily in my wheelchair - it's an active rigid manual wheelchair. There are fully accessible restrooms on the concourse level. An elevator is available to get to the field level. The field level is loose gravel- if you have a chair that can go through loose gravel (or snow if applicable)- be aware you and your chair are going to get dusty or wet haha. Be prepared! The light tunnels are wide, the sparkly light mazes are quite narrow. The Zipline and big slide are not accessible for wheelchairs (or other mobility devices). Saints Games are accessible with wheelchair + one companion seating. The accessible seating has good views. Handicap parking near CHS Field is available and there is a decent amount of van...
ย ย ย Read moreIt ain't the old Midway field, but it's a fine ball park in its own right. There is not one spot in the whole field where there is a bad view. The field is small and intimate enough that even in the farthest flung seats in the Outfield you can keep a close eye on what's happening.
Field amenities are plentiful, with some variety depending on where you go. Thankfully the field is small enough that it's not major problem to get anywhere in a reasonable amount of time.
One of the surprises was the kids' area out behind center field, with a climbing wall, jungle gym, and other bits of entertainment.
Tickets can be dirt cheap, but food and drinks are not. Expect to pay well for your consumables, but at least they're not bad. The fries are wonderfully crisp and just light enough that you don't feel bad nibbling on them. The cheese curds aren't bad, but a little heavier than I like, personally. And as far as drinks, everything from sodas to craft beer, even mixed drinks in some spots.
So it's not the cheapest outing you'll ever have, but it's not totally unreasonable, unless you're buying memorabilia, then $30 for a ball cap seems a bit much.
However all in all we had a good time, and some of the Saints packages that include meals and a drink seemed worth checking...
