We stopped here before going to enjoying the holiday glow lights at the CHS field. It was a cool night, with lots of snow. We found a table and waited about 10-15 minutes before offered a drink and menu. I’m guessing like most places, they were short staffed right now. The servers were all busy running around. It’s a good sized bar with multiple TV’s across the walls like most bars. Our drinks were good. However, one of the people in our party didn’t get a cocktail- just ordered a diet soda. She is a diabetic and can’t have regular soda. She was however served a regular soda. We didn’t know it at the time. She also ordered the salad with oil/vinegar dressing. So she had nothing with any sugar in it, so she thought. Half way through the meal, she got ill from the sugar in the soda. Like very ill. So much so, she had to get an Uber home and couldn’t attend the glow lights with us. She controls her sugars with insulin and diet. She didn’t have insulin with her, which would be fine, as long as she doesn’t have any sugar. Getting the soda WITH sugar, made her need the insulin NOW- immediately and of course she was 34 miles from home. It made me sad, that they didn’t really even care that the drink was wrong. When they refilled, they asked “diet?”. So it’s not that they didn’t KNOW, who ever hooked it up, added the wrong drink to the fountain or the server just grabbed whichever was easier. We will never know, but it’s sad that it caused my friend to get so sick and miss the evening out we planned as a group. This was a holiday outing for the group of us. It honestly ruined the night. We were all worried as she went home alone. Because of this, I can’t recommend the bar. The food was prepared as we ordered and came faster than we expected after waiting so long for our first drinks. Staff definitely were running. They all seemed unhappy, which maybe they were….? The location is great. Menu has something for everyone. The person who got the chicken strips, thought they tasted burnt/ over cooked. Otherwise, food was good, hot, and seasoned well.

Came here for the first time after visiting the CHS field last Friday and the vibe was overall really dope. It seems like a real cool spot to hang out and socialize with friends; however, the service was extremely horrible! It took the waitress about 15 minutes to even address us after we sat ourselves, once she gave us our menu. It took her at least 15ish minutes to come back to take our order. The waitress was also serving another couple next to us who I believe she knew because she greeted them right away (even took a shot with them) and gave them menu. She was VERY attentive towards them. They got their drinks and food before we even got our drinks when we placed our order at LEAST 10 minutes prior to the couple even arriving. The couple next to us was greeted, given their drinks and food in a timely manner. She even consistently checked up on them throughout their visit. For me, she BARELY checked in on us. As soon as she gave us our drinks or food, she was gone again. Never asked us know everything was and when it came to get our bill, we waited at LEAST 20 minutes for her to run our card. Overall HORRIBLE service but the food and drinks were very good! I would probably return in hopes that the waitress that was working Friday night is no longer working there.

Great location especially if you're going after the Saint's game. It was close to 10pm when we got there. The place was very busy. Seated ourselves. Understandably it took a few minutes to get our drinks. Ordered two Fish and Chips dinner, took about 30 minutes. No problem. The waitress was pleasant and attentive enough although my husband's beer sat on the bar getting warm for over 5 minutes maybe longer before it was brought over. He would have gone and got it but not totally sure it was his. It was. My one aggravation was that you get 1 small 1oz? container of ketchup for your order. We like ketchup. When I asked for more and asked for 4 of those small containers (two of us eating). The guy questioned rudely, "4?". After he came back with the 4 containers, I kid you not, he kept coming back by looking down to see if were using them. All in all, it was a great place, great prices, great atmosphere, and great food. I would definitely go back. Maybe bring my own ketchup bottle but aren't I already paying for the food????

The Bulldog is my go-to spot for an incredible time! I absolutely love hanging out here, whether it's to catch a game or to just soak in the lively atmosphere. Their beer selection is out of this world, and although I'm not a beer enthusiast, their wine is surprisingly good. I just wish they'd offer some higher-quality wine by the bottle. The food is consistently delicious, and their Sriracha tater tots and fried pickles are absolute must-haves! I've tried almost everything on the menu, and I haven't come across a dish I didn't like. Even my cat, Countess Willow, adores the food and their fabulous patio. The staff is top-notch, and the management is truly exceptional. The bartenders are always friendly and professional. This place is always buzzing with activity thanks to its great location, fantastic management, and wonderful staff. Their beautiful patio is perfect for enjoying the weather, but parking can be a bit of a hassle due to the lively area.

Good food. Nicely spaced seating ideal for conversations. Clean. Good service. Nothing at all to complain about. It’s a great venue for a lunch meeting or to hang out with family and friends. I got the breakfast sandwich. The portion was generous and it was excellent. I enjoyed having it with tots. The guacamole was really good on the sandwich as was the sausage Pattie and bacon strips. I’m not a fan of venues with a lot of TVs - and the Bulldog had a variety of sports channels playing. So for some folks that is a plus. For others a distraction from conversation. The men’s restroom was very clean - always a good sign. The location right in St. Paul’s downtown is beautiful - but I’m guessing parking may be challenging at times. I was there at noon on a Monday and there were several spots available on the street close to The Bulldog.

The Bulldog in Saint Paul is an absolute gem! Their Pot Roast is a culinary masterpiece, tender and bursting with flavors. Located within walking distance from CHS Field, the home of the Saints, it's the perfect spot for a delicious meal before or after a game. The attentive service and vibrant atmosphere add to the overall experience. The portion sizes are generous, and each dish is beautifully crafted. The Bulldog's commitment to quality is evident in every bite. Don't forget to explore their extensive drink menu, featuring a wide selection of craft beers and cocktails. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Bulldog is a must-visit destination for an unforgettable dining experience. My home away from home located across the street from Mears Park!
