We love this place. It's beautiful, clean, and offers a lot with great service.
Down on the ground floor, there is a ton of seating. Tables and chairs, stools and counters, couches, and plush chairs. They offer complementary popcorn from a popcorn machine during the day.
All the couch and bench seating areas have outlets and USB ports. Tons of them. The pool area is decent, I don't use it but it's a good size and also has a hot tub.
The "hors de hoursves" that are offered from 5:30-7pm, are not just snacks. It's a meal! The menu changes from time to time, but an example of one night they had meatballs in gravy, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, baked beans, vegetable florentine soup, tortilla chips, cheese sauce, jalapeños, hot dogs with buns, ketchup, mustard, and relish. Salad, various dressings, and several salad fixings. Coffee, soda, and milk are also available. It's all you can eat, and honestly, it can save you from having to go out for dinner.
The complimentary drinks are an awesome touch. Each guest can get 3 free drinks, however they are small. They offer wine; cabernet, chardonnay, and merlot, and you will get a half of a wine glass with each drink selection, or you can get a full wine glass for 2 of the free drink selections. They serve Bud Light, and usually a craft beer on tap. You can get a variety of mixed drinks, with all the main liquors; vodka, rum, tequila, whiskey, etc. Popular drinks are cherry vodka sours, bloody Mary's, Tom Collins, etc. I'm not sure if they put in a full shot, but it's a nice little "extra" bonus either way.
There is a bar + kitchen, as well. Drinks are spendy, as is usually the case with hotel bars $7.50/drink. The food is good, we've gotten the thin crust pizza and it was great. If you're looking to keep the alcohol flowing after the free drinks are gone, and don't want to go broke at the bar, there is a liquor store literally right across the street with awesome selections.
Breakfast is amazing. Buffet includes scrambled eggs, sausage patties, breakfast potatoes, and biscuits. There is a pot of gravy for the biscuits, tortillas for breakfast burritos, a waffle maker, and 4 cereals; Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Lucky Charms, and corn Chex. White milk and juices; apple, orange, cran-apple, are offered. Coffee station as well, with liquid pump creamers; plain and french vanilla, tea packets, hot chocolate packets, and sugar packets.
There is another small area that offers premaid oatmeal with the option of raisins, granola, and brown sugar. Also pancakes with syrup. In addition to this, there are bagels, toast, muffins, jellies, peanut butter, honey, yogurt, salsa, and almost anything you could want.
The rooms are very nice, and always clean. 8 floors of rooms, 4 elevators that actually move quickly, 2 of which are glass enclosed to see everything around you as you go up.
We stay in a single king room, which opens with a sitting room that has a pullout couch, comfy chair, foot stool, side tables, desk, and large tv. The short hallway from the sitting room to the bedroom has a microwave and fridge with a small countertop, open closet with bedding for the pullout couch. The bathroom is nice and spacious, with sink, tub/shower, and toilet all in the same room. Built in body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower instead of travel size bottles.
The bedroom in the single king is also spacious, with another large tv. You could easily have 3-4 people stay in a king room or more with 2 queens, and there is a door with lock on the bedroom.
The hotel is very kid friendly, allows pets, and if you ask, they will give you a late check out of 1pm without having to pay more!! That is crazy, and makes my whole weekend! Coffee and soda available all day.
If I had to name any cons, it would be that they charge for parking, $15/day. I know, lame. BUT, it's worth it with all the food and drinks they provide.
The eating area never feels crowded, so much seating with walls in between that gives privacy. There are also 5 banquet rooms, smallest occupancy is 76 and...

**Edit: The Consumer Protection Agency has been notified. This issue has not been resolved as the hotel staff failed to intervene to ensure my basic human rights were protected on three separate occasions.
If I could give 0 out of 5 I would. You are better off staying somewhere else.
I stayed at the downtown Drury and had an extremely disappointing experience.
The staff are poorly trained in de-escalation techniques and did nothing to stop the same guests from harassing me on three separate occasions. Despite this ongoing issue, and even during the distressing event management never reached out to address the situation or to ensure my safety and well-being as a guest. I do want to say that there was no Manager at the Hotel during the event. đ©
The issues began mere hours after my dad and I made room for a large family to sit together the night before the harassment began.
Here are the details of the three separate incidents:
First Incident: At 6:50am while I was eating breakfast in the common area the Grandmother approached me to say âYou and that man were weird making room for our family.â I told her that we only made room to ensure that they could sit together, and that I had just was getting over a medical emergency from having just been in the hospital, and that we meant nothing by it; and that I was trying to eat my breakfast in peace.
Second Incident: -This happened at checkout. In-front of hotel staff. đ© When I went to check out I saw three adult men and the same woman approach me. They accused me of being a monster and demanded that I call my dad for him to say that he wasnât a monster. During this time none of the staff from behind the counter attempted to walk around and stop this. The adult men said âI pray for your soul you donât got to Hellâ. I told the men âDonât you dare put religion on me.â. One of the sons said âDonât you take the Lordâs name in vane. I asked the front staff if someone could walk me to a safe area and the person said âYou can go back the room.â I said âIâm just trying to check out without being bothered why arenât yâall helping me?â
I went to my room by myself, in fear of my safety. From there I called both my mom and father-in-law telling them Iâm being harassed by three men over 6 feet tall. My mom and father-in-law arrived and to our surprise the police were called by the guest in-front of the hotel staff. We had to describe the situation. By some miracle, the Police said âWe are sorry this happened. They shouldnât have harassed you like this.â
Third Incident: As my mom, father-in-law, and I walked out the three men continued stalking us. They followed us outside into the parking lot. Itâs worth mentioning that no staff came out to stop them from following us or came out to tell them to leave us alone. When I noticed this I loudly said âStop stalking us!â.
I called the General Manager in September asking: Whatâs being done to ensure training?
Asking if the guests have been banned. (I told him explicitly that I donât care to know their information). He said that he could not comment on that.
I told him his apology meant nothing because he apologized to my dad who paid for the room, not the guest that was harassed on three separate occasions. This response was inadequate and dismissive given the seriousness of the situation. I have reached out to the company, and have been give slightly better responses but nothing ensuring the guests have been banned or confirmed that training was being looked into.
I strongly advise potential guests to reconsider staying at this location until significant improvements are made in staff training and guest...
Read moreVery unusual Drury experience here. Have stayed at 5-6 properties around the country this year and this one has been out of the ordinary, and not really in a good way. Some of it was out of their control, butâŠ
Pros: looks like it was a former Embassy Suites so the rooms have a separate living space and bedroom
rooms were mostly (see below) clean and fresh. Bathroom was decent.
easy access to the interstate
Cons: check-in took forever. Like almost 30 minutes, thanks to a large group of (what appeared to be) minors who were checking in to rooms and the reservations had various issues and/or problems. Three people working the check-in desk but only two were actively checking-in people⊠when we checked in, we asked for a room away from the potential noise of the kids but were put on the same floor as all of them. Ahhh, good times.
they charge for parking. Outdoors. In a flat, open, unsecured lot, with a TON of parking spaces. How much? Couldnât tell you. They just asked for our vehicle info⊠I overheard someone else complaining about the fees while at the kick-back.
HVAC system wouldnât cool our room down. I set it to âcool, highâ and 68 degrees (the room was 76F when we entered) and it would run, then shut down. After fiddling with it for a while, it started to work, but it took several hours to cool down.
shower lacks good flow/volume. They have the water saver thing in the shower head which is fine, but it makes a percolating noise and the water flow is minimal.
bathroom light is on a motion sensor. Great idea but the light stays on for 15-ish minutes after you leave⊠and thatâs annoying when itâs 4am and you used the bathroomâŠ
bedroom floors covered in hair. I took off my socks and they were covered in long blonde hair (I donât have long blonde hair).
the TV system is dated and doesnât offer any streaming services. Remotes look like they came from âConsumer Cellularâ (huge buttons, very simplistic). This is common at every Drury, however.
the breakfast hours are to the minute - we walked down to breakfast at 9:32am, not fully aware that breakfast ended at 9:30. The area was still fully stocked. We approached and asked about grabbing a few items before they tore down. âIt closed at 9:30am!â Snapped the guy cleaning the area. I said, âlooks like youâve got a ton of leftoversâ as he was removing completely full pans of food. He said âgotta get here before 9:30amâ
Ok, so cool - just waste the food. Amazing.
neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired, unless you like dirty liquor stores. Itâs not very walkable around here
So⊠Iâd be hard pressed to stay here again. Itâs just been frustration after frustration and isnât what Iâve come to expect from...
