As an east sider it pains me to have to give such a low review, but I would be lying to if I said that this location could get any more than two stars. I would say if you are well accompanied with the area and this side of town you’ll probably be perfectly fine. It’s an area that you want to stay vigilant. You want to lock up all of your stuff. Make sure that you’re not keeping anything in plain sight that can incite a robbery or another crime to happen. There is a pretty diverse set of businesses in the center as well as the community council (from what I can remember.) there is also ample amount of parking and you can access the public transportation system here. Though that is the case, given the amount of crime that happens here and businesses that often fail with a combination of vacant properties that stay vacant for long periods of time I would say it is not the safest part of town to be in. Some of the businesses have really really great service despite the location, but it definitely is a hit or miss. For example, I went to the cub late at night and had to deal with a very aggressive employee but on the other hand, I went to a store that is no longer in the shopping center and was treated with so much kindness, and even got a discount when I checked out. The main thing with the shopping center is it does have some really great businesses that I think is worth a try to visit, as well as regular businesses that just might have your every day items that you were looking for. I just stress that you should be vigilant. Make sure you lock up all of your items in your car and be wary of people who may approach you outside of...

...Then you see a low IQ, stunted social awareness, person who parks like this. This person shows us that they have a slow to mature sense of a broader world beyond their own sense of self. Only these type of individuals are capable of thinking they own 4 parking spots for their old, poor performance, historically bottom rung tier in its class truck. Should have listened to what their mind was telling them when they laid eyes on it prior to purchase, "Dodge" this, and get a real truck like a Silverado or a Tundra. Yet this person ignored their brain(are we surprised🤔). Oh well, nature will play out like it always has for those with stunted/lacking cognitive functions. Narcissist vibes also very hard to deny. Likely gets a pity invite to holiday gatherings from friends and family, a very reluctant one.
Take care dear reader. We all live here. Be a person you want to be around and don't be...
Read moreSun Ray is run down and pretty ghetto. The strip mall is anchored by a TJ-max, a thrift store, and a Cub foods. Sun Ray has a great location between Ruth, and McKnight rd, along I-94, and a long history on the East side of Saint Paul, but it has not kept up. The greater "Sun Ray area" which extends all the way to White Bear Ave from McKnight Rd has faired much better than Sun Ray, with better, more modern stores like Target Aldi, and restaurants. Sun Ray is not very good for a whole day of shopping, but is great for going to a single store like Cub or the Thrift store, that's what is keeping it alive. DO NOT take the bus there, the Sun Ray transit center is super sketchy. It's unfortunate since it's right next to a nice Culver's...
