Waḳan Ṭípi — Attraction in Saint Paul

I walk this trail a few times per week with my dog, as it's a great distance and has nice scenery. In the early morning hours I occasionally see homeless folks. They have never bothered me, and almost always say hello. Be smart. Like any other place, don't carry any valuables, look people in the eyes, and speak. While this area does offer some nice walking paths and a little taste of nature though you're in an urban setting, it is not a place I'll likely explore again. It's clear that this is a place for the homeless to squat, and they, among others, have left their mess behind. There were actual piles of garbage in certain areas. Where the trash wasn't piled up, it was just strewn everywhere. It really takes away from enjoying nature when humans have left their waste...

Although there is a new building apparently in progress, the site seems neglected. Some of the paths are grown over. We saw a cool camping tent and a very cool dead cat on the main path. There were a few other people there, so I suppose it's not completely forgotten. There's also a huge gap next to the fence in front of the cave if you're into...
