I found this place through a Google search and it's turned out to be some of the best breakfast food and coffee I've had in the area! I came in after a run and everyone was extremely welcoming and patient while I looked through the menu. I ordered a Banana Nut Mocha (minus the chocolate because I'm not a fan) and it was AMAZING! The espresso was of superb quality and the syrup did not overwhelm the overall flavor. I also ordered a ham and veggie quiche and it was so fluffy and perfectly cooked. It had just the right amount of ingredients. Not overfilled so everything was falling apart but enough so that the combination of toppings still make a huge impact. The cinnamon roll was delicious! I had them warm it up so that the frosting would soak into the roll a little bit. My boyfriend got a dark roast and sausage quesadilla. He enjoyed it all, but I'll let him write his own review. The two of us and my dog sat outside and they brought all the food out to us. I love that the silverware is located outside on the porch for easy access. Will definitely be back!!!

Absolutely the best cafe spot in the Twin Cities! We had a vegetable quiche, caramel roll, chia seed pudding, baked french toast, strawberry scone, and of course their latte's. All were amazing and taste fresh. I've had the quiche various times and no matter what type of quiche it is that day. It is always amazing, the egg consistency tasty and the crust is perfect and flaky. The scones are never dry. Caramel roll is for sure the best in the Twin Cities and an absolute most have (ask them to heat it up!). If you love baked French toast, this one does not disappoint. I tried the chia seed pudding for the first time this time and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. The granola crunch was delicious and fruit toppings were fresh and healthy. We sat outside in the patio and it was a super cute atmosphere to just relax. They have a garden and lots of greenery! I also love the upstairs seating area too when it's too hot or cold outside.

I’ve lived in this area my whole life and have never stopped here, which I have discovered was a mistake, because WOW this place is amazing! The employee that took my order was very sweet and answered my probably goofy “first-timer” questions without judgement. The food was very tasty, and the atmosphere is nice! I haven’t explored the whole space but I saw the patio out back and it’s gorgeous, and the main level is great too, but it’s a little noisy for my liking personally. But I think there is also an upper level that I haven’t seen that is likely more quiet as it is away from the kitchen. I ordered the toasted four cheese sandwich and chickpea and spinach soup, pictured (with the soup partially eaten because I couldn’t wait to try it 😂) in my review.

The quality of Swede Hollow varies by the visit and what you order. I stopped to grab a breakfast sandwich on the way to work and it was over a 15 minute wait to get my sandwich, and when I did finally receive it, it was very disappointing. I could see they used the microwave to make it. The sausage seemed old and reheated as one edge was dry, hard and inedible; it was also much smaller than the actual sandwich (see pictures). Definitely not worth $9 and not a good option if you have anywhere to be. I do like going here on the weekend when I have time to sit, relax, and enjoy a drink. Their hashbrown bake & quiches are good and the little chocolates they give with every drink is a delicious touch.

Wonderful spot close to Mississippi Market in St. Paul. There is a beautiful small park (when weather permits) to sit and reflect outside. The building itself seems old and very Swedish even though the history of Swede Hollow is long-past, lots of "hygge" inside (yes I know it's Danish but they did own the country, kinda). A few tables downstairs, one cozy one on the mezzanine, 6-7 upstairs and a neat "conference room" with a very comfy reading armchair. Coffee really good (Americano, Cubano), great selection, had a studenty-feel, but we are close to MSU. The food looked great. Definitely one for my after shopping, a gem of a "Third Place".

I have come by multiple times and have always had positive experiences. The lattes and coffee are delicious, they offer a wide range of other drinks that are not coffee based, and they have a diverse menu with many local and in-house items. As a vegan, they were very accommodating. Many of their salads and two sandwiches can be made vegan and they have three breads (one gluten free and one that is homemade) that are vegan. Note the chocolate stick that comes with the coffee is not vegan so remember to ask that they don’t include They also have a wonderful patio with a youth garden and very friendly staff. Highly recommended
