QDOBA Mexican Eats — Restaurant in Salem

October 19 2023 update: after coming here for years, they discontinued the sell of any veg meat options because they are "too expensive". I will never come here again, or any Qdobas. I will reccomend to all of the people I know, vegan, vegetarian, and meat eaters alike that they do not come here either. This coorperation, like most all others, functions on greed and nothing else. Save your dollars for someone who cares.

TWO YEARS AGO: I have been to this south salem location many times but the past 2 time I went, they completely messed up my pick up order. The first time they put a huge amount of sour cream that I did not order, I am lactose intolerant. The second time the order was perfect but they DIDNT PUT ANY IMPOSSIBLE MEAT IN MY BOWL! I didn't notice until I was home. I mean, come on! The ingredients for the pick up order are LITERALLY typed on a ticket that is stuck to the lid of the food! And they are still sending orders out the door that are obviously wrong. I love qdobas but I am disappointed with the staff at this location. Pay closer...

I come here quite often. Probably not anymore after this evening. First very dirty on the front line where they make burrito's and bowls. The young man who served us should not have been working the line. Not trained and kept dropping food onto the other orders and other selections of food and would not clean up. Burritos were over filled and he couldn't wrap them. We ended up dumping them into bowls anyway. Not a pleasant experience and for the $40 definitely not worth it. The owner of this business needs to be aware of what’s happening so he or she can correct. I did talk to who I thought was the lead about the state of the serving area but he just looked at me and said I know. So I guess I now know where not to go spend my money. Hadn't been to Qdoba for quite a while, so had a chance to stop in for lunch. They were not very busy and staff was friendly and helpful. Ordered the bowl with brisket. Although the brisket is good, it doesn't have much of a smoke flavor that I get when cooking my own or when visiting a dedicated bbq restaurant. This doesn't make it a bad option, but does give little reason to order the brisket instead of the steak at the same price. The amount of meat was decent, yet somewhat dwarfed by the other items in the bowl. I did not choose to pay for extra meat. The vegetables (peppers and onions) looked much better than they tasted, however were still plenty edible.

Pricing is very comparable to similar establishments, so not a huge shock.

I will definitely consider visiting again when...
