BattlePub Games — Attraction in San Antonio

Came here when they first opened a couple years ago and it gave off good vibes but the lady in the front of the store was not great. Blamed my partner for their shelves falling when he was no where near it when it happened but he had been the last person there, and made him buy the damaged game. We obliged because we wanted to play games there and not cause problems. We had friends that later joined and brought in outside food and drinks, and only did because of the open bar and snacks, but the same lady then told them to eat outside the store. After our games we played we left and never looked back.

I still feel slighted since the only reason they wanted outside food and drinks to not be allowed is due to wanting your money, or if there were concerns of allergies or mess that was not mentioned to us, and after the broken game situation that was dealt with smoothly and my partner even apologized afterwards, she still had an attitude. I hope they’ve improved, but i only didnt leave a review when it happened because they had no presence online since they were new.

The only take away i need you to have is to NOT bring outside food or drinks if you want to have a positive experience, and maybe dont touch any of the shelves that are bending in the middle due to having too much weight on them.

Edit: Also the store owner tends to leave snarky replies to those who write about their honest experiences on their google reviews page and plays victim since they’re a small business. Kinda...

They canceled an advance order placed months ago and have provided no timeline for a refund. I would not trust any online orders made here to arrive.

In February, I purchased a Final Fantasy gift bundle, several months ahead of its release. After the bundle skyrocketed in price I received an email telling me they would not be able to fulfill my order because of issues restocking the item. Even though I purchased it months before release. They've now canceled my order and provided no timeline for a refund, and have been wildly unresponsive.

Even if they do provide a refund, I will not be able to purchase the bundle anywhere else for the same price. I'm still wondering how they could have needed to restock to fulfill an order I'd placed months ago, before the bundle was released l. Unless, of course, they simply sold what they did get to people who purchased it at an inflated price after my order was placed.

No matter the cause, I'm bummed that I won't be getting the bundle because this seller cannot be trusted to deliver the products they sell at the price...
