Over the years I have shopped at JCPENNEY for clothing, shoes, home items, etc more than any other retail store. Occasionally I would have a bad experience but didn't let it come between me and my beloved JCP. HOWEVER, today that all change!! I walked into the store, asked the price on a clothes steamer and was told it was $56 but that they would honor the $42.59 online price but that I would not he able to use my $10 off of $25 coupon! I didn't buy it at that time but I instead I went home and (about 1 hour later) attempted to order it online and use my coupon but was stunned to find that the online price had more than doubled to $100 in literally one hour. It's official!!! JCP manipulates their prices and customers ELECTRONICALLY!! I am a savy shopper and I believe JCP monitors such shoppers and attempts to keep us from getting SUPER deals that would mean less profit from them. They don't consider that savy shoppers are dedicated and loyal and are 'filling in' when the 'occasional' shoppers are not there. While JCP'S profits are not as large, us savy shoppers keep their registers going during their business lulls! I am very disappointed that JCP has chosen to manipulate customers by manipulating prices AND by BLOCKING our access to their website!!! That said, I have reconsidered where I shop and will not shop at JCP as much! As for that clothes steamer, I went back online and did a Google search and found the same item at Bed Bath & Beyond for $39 but wait, it gets better! I ultimately paid $31.99 because they gave me a $10 discount and free shipping to my home!!! Read moreI purchased a set of JCPenney Home™ Premium Embossed Microfiber Sheet Set Item #723-0990D on 9/17 for same day pickup. I was never contacted so I went in store and after an hour of speaking to store mngr Anna & online customer service I was told the order was not processed correctly and although item was in store I would have to come back 9/18. Anna promised me once store received my order she personally would habe sheets on her desk for me. On 9/18 again no one contacted me. I called online services for the third time to be told they couldn't find it in the system. Two hours later an email arrived stating order was ready. I was contacted by "jerry" from local store and he advised me the order for my "pillow cases" was available. I told him it was incorrect and requested to speak with Anna. Jerry refused to place Anna on call and said I would have to call online sales again. Upon contacting Supervisor Wyatt online he declined to provide an explanation other than sheets were not sold for 17.00 and. although my receipt said the product number, description and picture there was an error and i could take the pillow cases or take a refund of $17 and newly purchase sheets at $80. He admitted to the error on behalf of JCPenney but refused to provide what was already paid for and receipt stated. He said only thing he was going to do was refund my money because I would not get sheet set from JCPenney for $17. On 9/19 I went to local store and still no sheets, instead i was given pillow cases. Read moreHad a bad experience with buying my son's school clothes online. 8/12 - Ordered online 8/13 - status change on 2 items, checking if in stock 8/16-the 2 items were cancelled from my order (it took them 4 days to figure the items were out of stock) 8/18-got a call that my order was in 8/19-went to the store to pickup order, waited 30 minutes and only had 2 items in(I physically held the t-shirts in my hands) and was told that if I pick up the 2 items and signed, I was signing for entire order as picked up 8/24-received email that my order was in(again) 8/28-went to the store to pick up my entire order, the sales lady just brought out 2 items, not the t-shirts, and told me that this was all they had. I asked for a manager to just refund my money because they messed up the entire order from the beginning. I waited another 40 minutes there for my refund, and conveniently, the manager found my t-shirts, even though they called to check on status on the t-shirts and were first told they were in transit, then they arrived.
JCPenney does not have a good system in place for online orders. The whole experience was frustrating, and a waste of my time. This was the first and last time I order online with them. It's not surprising they are going out...
