This gym is overpriced and mediocre. Many times it seems like the mens bathroom is having a poop contest to see who can leave the smelliest and most disgusting poop ever. The worst part is that often they NEVER flush. Many times I've walked into a stall and theres just pee all on the bathroom floor. It’s a good day when I can walk into a bathroom stall and not have to hold my nose. The steam room and the sauna have been the only decent perks that have held me to keep this overpriced membership for as long as I have, although, I just read a recent review about some gay things going on in there, I am so ashamed because this was one of the few things about this gym I actually enjoyed, and now, I have to cancel it because that is just revolting and disgusting. They have a good quality and diverse selection of machines. They have some big zumba type mirror rooms for classes. The staff are all pretty kind and nice. The crowd is a lot of mature people, normal people who aren’t screaming and huffing and puffing. There is just absolutely nothing with this particular gym that justifies their $50+ a month membership. They have the basic machines that many other gyms have, they have the basic sauna and steam room many other gyms have(and that without depraved obscenities going on inside of them) The only things this gym had going for them to justify their price tag was the outdoor pool and basketball court and now its gone, replaced with a pickleball court (for all 3 people in the world that play pickleball) :/ This is a gym for: retired mature men and women who are old and wealthy and just want the simple convenience of the closest gym to their house; and for people who want to go to a decently calm gym with kind staff and kind fellow gym goers. I’ll tell you honestly there are better gyms out there if you look around. Nevertheless, I don’t regret my time here. It, was, a great gym for me for the time being. I am grateful for...
Read moreTHIS USED TO BE A PREMIER GYM-NO LONGER. MEMBERS WELL BEFORE IT WAS GOLDS. Things have gone down hill so much we are LEAVING. Here is why not in any particular order, but #6 is very troubling. No longer do they send out towels to be cleaned. The staff launders and folds them. My husband brought towels to the manager that were so dingy as to be gross. Got better for a while; now still sub par; a cut back on service and cleanliness. Basketball floor used to be polished and maintained, now it looks like someone took steel wool to the floor; never maintained. Big cutback on maintenance About a year ago they took out all of our television channels and went to a pkg. This has about 14 channels; 9 of which are sports, DIY, news, Spike tv...cut backs to customers Rugs are dirty; cannot recall when i saw them cleaned. Anti Bac containers are out frequently out 6, ABOUT 3 months ago, they REMOVED our good equipment and gave it to another gym. THEN replaced it with used/old equipment where rust is so apparent in the workings. Our previous equipment has 'air' and TV's; these don't; some are of the cheap plastic variety of equipment. That tells us trouble is on the way; they are selling or something, as nothing is being maintained as it used to be. 7, Televisions, jagged picture, no audio, always somewhere. there are 3 treadmills that have been reported by us and a lady whom I saw talk to the repair person myself. Never fixed. The front desk staff is absolutely terrific. Big plus. They are always polite and friendly and there is no awful pressure to buy training sessions. HOWEVER,Someone needs to decide IF this is really a Gold's Premier Black gym or NOT; at present it is NOT. Otherwise, repairs need to be made, state of the art equipment needs to be brought back. Cheap cutbacks need to be re-thought or current members need to pay the same price...
Read moreManagement does not forward any complaint to corporate. I've been told this directly by a manager. This is the main reason why I gave it a low rating. Corporate should know what's being said about their facilities. Have been complaining over a year every time somebody goes in completely nude into the hot tub in the ladies area. They listen but do nothing I have even suggested putting up signs but nothing changes. Recently I asked a client if she was wearing a swimsuit as I wanted to enter it, and she started screaming that there were no signs prohibiting or stating that they had to have swimsuits on. Case closed. If there are no signs people feel like they can do what they want. The clients also enter the hot tub with shoes and I'm told by staff that's not supposed to happen because the hot tub has less chemicals in it than the pool.
Best look elsewhere. This place is kept semi clean off and on -when there's a complaint they're on it, but then after that it goes downhill fast. They seem to have good equipment for workouts, it's the people that must use them that are a problem. In the ladies room one idiot using dumbbells sent one flying across the room almost hit someone. Again signs need to be put up regarding caution in the use of barbells but they do nothing. I guess as long as they have plenty of customers. The workers at the front desk are usually pleasant, except if you interrupt them with a question while they are flirting with someone else, then they are downright rude. Good grief. Be a...
