Sky Nails — Attraction in San Bruno

I booked three pedicures, one gel manicure, and a bikini wax. Booking was easy, and they were attentive to clarify how many people were coming and the details of the booking.

The pedicure was pretty good. My feet were cleaned up nicely, and they were kind in accommodating my wish for a different color on each toe haha. The massage parts, both with stones and hands, were nothing to write home about. The part I really didn't like though was that the topcoat was applied way after the pedicure was complete. Since I got a wax and had to take my pants off, this was a logistical mess, resulting in many smudged toes.

My gel manicure was super good. The polishing was immaculate. I am very picky and do not usually get my nails on my hands done because of that. But I am super pleased. Again, they also accommodated my rainbow wish, which came out beautifully IMO.

The wax was also very thorough. Don't expect a luxurious spa environment, but do expect a well done wax job. They use cotton strips too, which I much prefer to that crazy peel-off wax. No pain, super friendly and competent.

Unfortunately, there were not enough people on staff when we arrived to take me, my mom and my daughter all at the same time. This made my daughter, who is only 6, pretty unhappy. She was constantly wondering when it would be her turn. Since it was something we wanted to do together, this was a bummer.

The nail salon's website is very nice for bookings however they do a very poorly nail job! I specifically told the nail technitian to please DO NOT DO my nails so thick and that was the first thing she did! I asked her very politely to please thinner my nails a little be more and her reaction was TALKING BAD ABOUT ME ON HER LANGUAGE! And how do I know this? Because all the other nail technitians where looking directly at me as she was talking on her language! I feet very humillated and embarrassed as they all where looking at me like if I did something wrong! Then on top of that they told me $45 for full set plus $10 for toe nail color only and in the end they charged me $65. I'm never, ever coming to this place again! My nails are ugly- thick! I feel humillated and overcharged! In the end I was ready to argue but I change my mind to do a best thing for them I which is writing a review on them as a form of tipping lol! Because I didn't tip them I just pay my bill...

I am grateful of these women and their dedication to each customers needs. I'm disappointed on the other hand of customers. I understand California is allowing us vaccinated to not wear masks. I am vaccinated. But , at this point and time in a small salon with AC running, and I witnessed 2 women casually say " I don't have to wear a mask I am double vaccinated. " Across the way is an elderly woman who spoke no English with her Mom and child. The uneasy feeling in the air, I felt for the owner. She smiled and said Okay. I can ready body language, and noticed several customers feeling nervous. Cmon people, it's not that big of a deal,.while getting our nails done, respect the Salons Decision....
