This place is very cute. Our flight was delayed and we ended up here in the middle of night. The directions they sent in email were useful and easy to follow. Parking can be tricky in a new place in the middle of the night. But once we got through all that, the actual cottage is well maintained, clean. The cottage does not have centralized vents so they propped open all the windows which made the place super chilly. We figured out how to turn on the portable heater and closed the windows when we got in. Bathroom is tinier than a small closet but it was clean and well cared for. Overall, it was a good stay. The manager lives on the site in one of the cottages. Our puppy loved it too!

There were some things I liked about the Blue Heron Cottages and some things I didn't like. We stayed in cabin #6 And here's the things I loved:||Dog friendly-with an enclosed court yard so the dogs can safely be off leash. ||Courtyard- a great place to kick back relax and make friends with your neighbors.||Room #6-on the end with a large front porch.||•Mattress- Very soft and cozy ||Kitchen- fully stocked (just supply food)||The decor-nice and comfy. || Beach supplies- from towels to surfboards! ||Location- walkable to shops & restaurants. ||Santa Cruz cliffs- a Beautiful beach at the end of the block (a lot of stairs to get down to it). ||*The Manager -Charlie was very kind and accommodating. ||||Things I didn't like:||•Cost & Fees-They charge a cleaning fee ($125) and damage insurance fee ($49). Add 2 nights at $199 each and we paid just over $300 a night. Making a short stay more expensive. ||•No Ocean Views- but I knew that. ||•Mattress- can be too soft for some is super soft.||•TP & paper towels-They only supply 2 toilet paper & paper towel rolls (cheap paper) and no Kleenex. It's okay for a short stay. You have to bring your own if you need more. ||•Noise-It's in the flight path so the airplane noise is really loud and pretty constant. ||•Air Conditioner- Extra $10 a day. ||•Smoking- Area & ashtray is on #6 front porch. ||•Parking -space for cabin #5 and #6 are really small. You park sideways in front of garages with little space. The other parking spots are much more spacious. ||•Clean Up- A long list of chores is required before you leave. Yet I'm paying a $125 cleaning fee. ||||Conclusion:||It was a nice enough place to stay (long term might be better). BUT..short term, for the money I would prefer staying in a hotel with an ocean view and no chores. If I'm going to have to do all that work then I'll spend less and take my RV. Honestly I was celebrating my birthday so the last thing I wanted to do was cook or clean. I just want to enjoy my entire stay without the chore list at the end. Like I said, it is a nice place. if this is your thing you should definitely check it out,but I don't think we will be back (unless it's...

These several days and while we would love to return, but may not, and yes a great great atmosphere within walking distance to many various restaurants and shops plus even a grocery store and list of places are many. Again, it is not our first visit but dollar for dollar still.not a bad price because of ability to as everyone states so much to see and do. It could use some exterior light upgrade because many many spots within courtyard are extremely dark and many totally unsafe conditions due to age of complex. Back door swings out so again at night need to step back and pitch black in darkness

TOTALLY AND I MEAN TOTALLY NOT SAFE CONDITIONS

then sharp metal edges on back door and in my 5 decades of experience in building projects should be safer than it is. Vinyl wood like flooring that is getting very tired and could use some

MAJOR TLC

to bring up to a better appearance for the money it cost to stay. TV's just no words to express that not user friendly by any stretch again not remotely close Dollar for dollar if brought up to 4 or 5 star experience in a cabin you over look the single ply paper towels and toilet paper etc.etc. Everything is decent still just be careful at night as totally past dangers in certain areas. On site representative is great feeling to have and they will drop whatever they are doing to help within their control as a member of staff. In closing and it is always difficult to assume what others feel is a good price for what it is My opinion is if you addressed some minor issues within unit not a bad return on dollars spent. Absolutely need to address exterior.lights to be safe, some exterior back porch railing conflicts and it is so close to being perfect place but for some odd reason they will not address these problems that in this individuals stay over several years the tiny list of things to do are for again unknown reasons, are...
