I went to Raglans yesterday to try their Cobber Chop't salad. It’s romaine, chicken, bacon, egg, tomato, cucumber, avocado, blue cheese crumbles, pita bread, and ranch. Wow! This was definitely a salad where I enjoyed every single bite and then purposely used the remaining pita slice to wipe the plate clean getting every last bit of goodness. I can’t believe how good everything has been at Raglans that I’ve tried so far. I’m also loving their indoor remodel. The booths are a wonderful addition to gave a more of a private dining experience while they still have open table seating too. I just signed up for their ‘Burger of the month club’ where at the beginning of each month they’ll send you an email introducing you to their newest Burger of the Month. You’ll then receive a complimentary ‘Burger of the Month’ coupon to use with the purchase of another burger, entree salad, or entree. What a great offer! I wish I would have known that before yesterday. 😁 But now I have something each month to look forward to.
Update 2: Yesterday I finally tried Raglan’s well talked about yearly “monthly mainstay of the month” for November. It’s their special Thanksgiving Sando. An oven roasted turkey, brie cheese, stuffing, cranberry jalapeño relish, mayo, sourdough bread and a side of gravy. After two big bites I was thinking, “dang, this sandwich is pretty good”. Then I realized one of the bigger fry dipping sauce wasn’t for the fries but in fact it was the gravy for the sandwich. I started pouring on the gravy with every bite. It instantly went to DAYUMMMM status!!!! In my opinion this sandwich went from a 4.3 out of 5 star rating without the gravy to then a 6 out of 5 stars with the gravy. It was an amazingly balanced Sando with gravy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 Don’t sleep on this sandwich or you’ll have to wait till next November. I’ll definitely be getting a couple more before the month ends. *it’s enough food to split with a friend as I took half of my order home to eat later for dinner. #rphturkeysando
Update 3: Yesterday I was excited to hit up Raglan Public House to try out their well talked about fish and chips entree which is a New Zealand classic beer battered haddock, thick cut fries, coleslaw and I was blown away! It was possibly the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The fish was a perfect crispness on the outside and juicy on the inside that then just melted in my mouth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend! Seeing that it was Feb 1st, I had to also try their new Burger of the Month for February which is the Meatloaf Sando. It’s meatloaf, mozzarella, cheddar cheese, spicy fried onion strings, house pickles, garlic aioli and spicy tomato chutney. This burger was super flavorful and soft to bite in to. They definitely have a home run with this burger! These two plates fed two people and still had a lot of food to take home. On my previous visit I had signed up for their Burger of the Month club and yesterday I received an email informing me I was eligible to get one complimentary Burger of the Month with the purchase of another burger, salad, or entree. So basically, I bought the fish and chips and got the burger for free. What an awesome deal!
Update 4: If you’re looking for a little restoration in your life then you’ll definitely find ‘The Cure’ at Raglan Public House. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Yesterday I tried The Cure which is their daily brunch homemade biscuit, gravy, tots, scrambled eggs and the choice of fried chicken, chicken sausage links, or bacon (I went with fried chicken). If you’re looking for biscuit and gravy, this is a winner! 🏆 Absolutely delicious! It was hard to photograph how much amazing food was on this plate. I’m guessing there were maybe 4 fluffy eggs that were scrambled hidden underneath what was photographed. This plate could easily be shared with a friend as I happily took half of the serving home and ate it for dinner. All I can say is that the biscuit was perfection, gravy… perfection, fried chicken… perfection, fluffy eggs… perfection. Yeah, this menu item was a home run and something I would highly...
Read moreThe food is amazing. They are currently, for a limited time, offering their delicious Thanksgiving sandwich. I've been getting one once a week, no shame. I order it with a side of sweet potato fries and it makes my whole week. What doesn't make my week is the consistently, painfully slow service, by servers who just couldn't possibly care less. Last week I went with my boyfriend and we were being waited on by a blonde girl who was more tipsy than us, obviously so. We waited for, I kid you not, over 50 minutes before I decided to find our server inside who was talking to the manager. I politely expressed disappointment about still not having even the drinks we ordered. He apologized and after that things started moving more quickly. Our server brought us the beers and my boyfriend got something different than what he ordered. We didn't bother to mention it. We were just grateful to finally have drinks in front of us. She asked us if we needed anything else and my boyfriend said "no, we're okay. Just waiting on the food we ordered" she said ok and walked away. I wasn't convinced we would get the food at all but it came out about 15 minutes later and the manager ended up covering the meal which was unexpected but appreciated. If he hadn't done that we would not being going back on principle.
I went again last night with a friend and the waitress wasn't intoxicated this time but the service was nearly as bad. She was polite but it took unreasonably long considering there were several vacant seating benches outside where we were. I was a waitress for many years so I'm very patient and understanding but service here is just poor.
Overall, food is a 5. Management is a 5....
Read moreThis is one of my favorite places to eat and drink in Ocean Beach. The weekend deals are incredible especially if you can wake up early enough for one dollar mimosas, and once you get there you're already close enough to the beach for an early morning surf session or just a lazy day. The restaurant is clean and open, there is ample outdoor seating. The food is way better than it has any right to be , it's sort of a "New Zealand" take on classic barfood.
The patty melt, the pretzel with jalapeno cheese sauce, and anything from the brunch menu is amazing. Kind of hard to go wrong with their delicious food. On Thursdays they have a Stein night with $6 glass steins of beer, those nights can get a little crowded, but it usually crowded in the fun way.
I think people sometimes overlook this particular spot because it is very close to the eponymous named Noodle House across the street (also excellent), as well as a delicious sandwich shop save me countless times from an afternoon of hunger. But, that is to their detriment as Raglan's is an excellent place to get a beer, a drink, food, or all three at the same time.
They make their own "cinnamon" Spiced whiskey, it is delicious in there menu concocted cinnamon drink, as well as an add-on to any sort of hot toddy or other "weather is getting colder" cocktail.
If you manage to get there on the weekend the bartender Ben is amazing always treat everyone right, and is one of the main reasons I have been going for the...
