Hello again, let me tell you of another great adventure with my god daughter Avaya. Well we were planning on taking the harbor tour today in San Diego California. When we got to the ticket both we saw that for the same price $32 per person we could take a 30 minute thrill ride on Flagships Patriot jet boat. Well we decide that we had to do it. Let me tell you that thrill is an understatement The captain and crew are extremely nice and the way our captain handled that boat can only be compared with Michael Angelo handling a paint brush just pure exquisite genius.!!!!!!! They play great music on the ride which made me and my god daughter dance in our seats. The tricks the captain performed were incredibly fun ( we both decided that we want to be crew members on board) from the high speed turns to the 180 and 360 degree spins all the way up to when the captain said let me introduce you to the bay and he stopped the boat and a little water mist hit us in the face and we thought that was cool then out of nowhere an avalanche of 500 gallons of water came pouring over us ( thank God for the free ponchos they provided) we we laughing and yelling and throwing or hands up to the music just like we were partying in the best night club in the world. The fun, the laughs, the dancing in our seats, the unbelievable incredible memories we made and will forever reminisce about are sooooooo precious to us both. This was another first experience ive been lucky to share with my God daughter and we are already making plans to do it again, this next time we're bring her dad, and one of my lifelong friends and his kids. This is an adventure that every family must experience. Even with our hair drenched multiple times we were laughing and having a blast the entire time. You do have to be over a certain height to ride check the website. The boat seats a 139 people. Take my advice go to San Diego harbor, goto the Flagship cruise ticket both and book your fantastic adventure on board the Patriot jet boat. Make a memory for a lifetime.
August 16th 2019 Well everyone we're back. .. in celebrating my goddaughter Avaya's 15th birthday true to my word we came back to Flagship cruises and events to take another thrill ride on the Patriot jet boat. This time we brought more people, Avaya's Dad, and best friend Sophia. Special shout out to captain Charles that gave us a master ride and increased our memories of this incredible fun experience. I can tell you that Avaya's dad and Sophia having heard our praises of this experience were a bit skeptical that it would live up to all of or hype. They loved every second of it. Captain Charles went the extra mile for me as just before shoving the throttle to the limit called attention to my beautiful goddaughter by name and asked everyone to wish her a happy 15th birthday. It caught her completely by suprise and started the fun in such a memorable way. We were laughing and dancing again and of course throwing or hands up to the music as we reveled in what can only be described as living art. I'm not sure what school they send these captains to, but the way they handle this ship can only be compared to a great artist. The music, the speed, the 360's and of course getting soaked make for the perfect combination of a live 4D movie or living art!!!! We are determined to come back bringing even more people so that this incredible experience will be guaranteed to be in San Diego for decades to come. People have always said i have a big mouth and love to talk.... Well I love to talk about people and things I love, hence why I talk about my goddaughter soooooooooooooo much. Since this past Friday August 16th 2019, in just 2 days i have talked to and shown pictures of our trip on the Patriot to over a hundred people and they all seemed excited to try it. Most didn't know about it but people will learn as I'm not about to shut up. Till our next meeting my goddaughter Avaya and myself (Charlie) wish you fun, laughs, great adventures, and...

The Groupon did not really apply to us but their lovely booking staff gave us some discounts for our military guys and our Auto Club membership.
Parking was easy at the USS Midway for $20 and a short walk to the ticket booth was easy as well. I was expecting a difficult time parking and a long walk to the ship so this was a pleasant surprise. Another pleasant surprise was our table was reserved for us. I thought it was first come first serve. Great! Welcome staff was great and ready with a glass of bubbly which for me was too sweet. But a nice gesture! I had ordered surf and turf for everyone and two charcuterie boards. Our server was delightful throughout. The charcuterie boards were really nothing much. Very little cheese, too much stringy prosciutto and store bought pepperoni and blue cheese crumbles not appealing at all. Chopped macadamia nuts and golden raisins made no sense and there were no crackers or crostini to go with it. The highlight of this board were the 2 gherkins and the green and Kalamata olives. I would not order again.
I premade alterations to the salad starter - a small wedge with bacon and blue cheese - it was delicious. My one complaint here is that each salad was a different portion size - some were quite small while others were large. Ok The turf was a braised short rib that was delicious. Mashed potatoes were excellent. The surf was absolutely not jumbo butter sautéed shrimp. These were little shrimp and not flavorful at all. And, again, each portion was different. Roasted vegetables were pretty but not tasty. That’s the whole loss of a star for me. I’m a cook, baker and a caterer - food has to be exactly as promised, or very close to it. There was one option for dessert and it was a chocolate overload type of cake. My group enjoyed it. Drinks were good. Prepare to spend another $30 per person for 2 drinks and consider their bar package option at $40 unlimited. Our bar bill was about $170 and pics that they took of our party pre-board were $25 for two.
The sail around the harbor was fantastic. The ship is smooth and the water is calm. The views of downtown and the docked aircraft carriers were spectacular! And the DJ was terrific! Prepared to dance and have a great time with a very nice crowd. This is a family friendly event.
I overheard a very positive conversation about their weekend champagne brunch. Our server wholeheartedly agreed. I love brunch. My sons love brunch. And I love my sons…so we are planning to return soon for brunch!!!
Thank you to Patty and Ernesto for taking the time to make us happy - the reserved table was an extra perk that is not at...
Read moreYour trip to San Diego wouldn't be complete without experiencing the Patriot Jet Boat Thrill Ride. Situated right in the heart of downtown San Diego, this thrilling adventure lasts approximately 30 minutes aboard an open-air jet boat. They even provide ponchos on the boat to keep you dry, and there's a convenient photo service just before you board the boat. During our visit in early September, it cost $20 for two printed copies of the photos, which is quite reasonable.
Parking options are abundant, and I opted for the $20 parking right next to the impressive USS Midway warship. While someone mentioned there's free parking available, it might require a bit more walking, as per my friend's experience.
It's a good idea to carry an additional pair of clothes as you might get wet towards the end of the tour.
I strongly recommend checking their website for restrictions and guidelines regarding who can and cannot participate. Children under 48 inches tall are not allowed, and all kids must be seated in the middle seats, not on the edge seats.
The speed boat tour takes you through the ocean, offering stunning views of the waterlines, military ships, downtown skyline, and the iconic Coronado Bridge. The boat delivers an exhilarating, sporty speed run with unexpected 360-degree turns that will drench you with seawater. Even with ponchos, you might still get wet due to the boat's speed. This adventure is truly one-of-a-kind and, in my opinion, unmatched by anything else in San Diego. If you wear glasses, there's no guarantee you'll return with them, so be cautious. While you're allowed to use your cell phone or camera equipment, I would advise using them carefully. Towards the end of the tour, the staff is happy to help take pictures of your group with your devices, so there's no need to rush.
Following the trip, for changing clothes, you can use the restrooms located about a 2-minute walk to the left of the check-in station. There's usually a line of people waiting with clothes in hand for change.
All in all, the Patriot Jet Boat Thrill Ride is a must-do if you're ever...
