Garnet Nails Lounge — Attraction in San Diego

Absolute nightmare.

This place fits every bad stereotype you might have heard about a typical Vietnamese nail shop.

They constantly upsell and bully you into spending more. They only care about making money and do a mediocre job, often rushing and making mistakes in an effort to get you out faster so they can take on other clients. They rushed and made my wife's nails bleed, then tried to cover it up and make her put her bloody toes into her new shoes. I understand that mistakes happen but trying to cover it up is deplorable. They only speak Vietnamese and talk about the clients right in front of them. Incredibly rude.

There is a reason they have so many 1 stars reviews on yelp.

Did I mention that they charged $45 for a nail trim and buff which should have cost $20 according to their own menu? They’re crooks.

If you care about your nails and decent customer service, AVOID...

Tucked in the cutest little strip mall you’ll find the quaintest nail salon that if I lived in San Diego I would go every week. I had the loveliest mani pedi that was such a good price and quality I can’t get over it. I went close to closing so I wasn’t sure they would let me do both but they literally waited on me hand and foot. When they told me how much it was in the end I couldn’t believe what a great deal! I’m torn because I want to yell about this place from the rooftops all while keeping it under wraps so every time I am in Pacific Beach I can walk in and be instantly pampered! I just got a mani/pedi here. Sandy, the manager, did SNS nails. I'm visiting from Atlanta and called around the area asking who did them. After calling 4 nail salons she was the first to know what I was talking about. Apparently, it is called powder dip nails here. Anyhow, she was amazing, and Jenny did my pedicure. My toes look beautiful and my feet feel refreshed! Oh, and the conversation was fun too! If I ever come back to San Diego, I will definitely get my nails done here again. I highly recommend...
