Terrible Salon Experience! Avoid at All Costs!
I had the most horrifying experience at this salon. I came in for a some highlights, lowlights and a root smudge and everything seemed fine—until it was time to see the results. After washing out my hair, they insisted I not look in the mirror because they wanted to “surprise” me. Against my better judgment, I trusted them.
When I finally saw my hair, I was shocked. My hair was jet black—completely different from the soft blonde color I had requested. I never asked for black hair, and they didn’t consult me before making such a drastic change.
To make matters worse, they overcharged me significantly! When I asked for a partial refund they refused saying they never give refunds.
No refund, no accountability, just attitude. This salon doesn’t care about their customers at all. Avoid this place unless you want to be overcharged, disrespected, and leave with a hairstyle you hate!
This salon is deceitful, unprofessional, and unapologetic. I’ve never felt so ripped off or disrespected in my life. Do yourself a favor and...
Read moreTo Clients: If you're considering any services, be sure to ask about the refund policy-especially when it comes to color treatments. They can ruin your hair, and the owner won't care. He does not offer refunds. Instead, they'll keep attempting to "fix" the issue until your hair is completely damaged. If you complain, he'll resort to insults and call you cheap. Just take a look at how he responds to criticism.
To Stylists: Good luck. If you're working on commission, be aware that he will take clients from you and hand them over to less experienced, minimum-wage employees just to increase his profits-even if it was rightfully your turn. He even tried to do this with the clients I personally brought in. His behavior can be verbally abusive.
I'm sharing this to help not only clients but also stylists working under Toygun. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. I told him that before, and I'll say it again-he does not know how to manage a commission-based salon. I fully expect him to respond and...
Read moreOK, so where to start with this review I used to go to Gio and Gio back in Downtown about 8 years ago. It was a phenomenal salon/barbershop and I remember when I moved to San Francisco and I told myself that if I ever come back to San Diego this would be the spot. I moved back to Pacific Beach and to my pleasant surprise, a Gio and Gio in Pacific Beach. I called and spoke to Gio and as I walk in, I remember him and he rememebred me. The facility and the actual shop itself is beautiful, clean, and open. The music is awesome and it’s a total vibe. Not only arethe employees very professional, they are customer focused and just all around good people. I did end up getting my haircut by Angelina and let me tell you…she knows how to do good work. I repeat she does how to do really good work 🔥🔥 So all in all, Gio and Gio will have a customer...
