I tried to order something special for my wife because it’s Mother‘a Day. She asked for the following which she sent in a text:
“Banana tub. No chocolate syrup. Add gummies. Add Oreo crumbs. Add a lid on top to go.”
But apparently you can’t order a banana tub without chocolate syrup and add gummies and Oreo crumbs because this old miserable woman who works there said, “we’re too busy we’re not doing that.”
Mind you…aside from the two extras the only deviation here is no chocolate syrup.
My daughter ordered a cup right before with added Oreos, and my son ordered just a chocolate cup as well as two additional mixed cups with lids for my other two kids.
I’ve never seen a sign that reads, “hey, if we’re busy and despite you waiting in the line for fifteen minutes you can’t get what you want because it’s going to annoy us.”
We’re locals. There’s always a line. If you don’t want to serve customers then maybe switch up your attitude especially when we’ve frequented so many ice cream shops in the area and the owners are incredibly polite and warm….despite whatever is going on in their lives.
Definitely not bringing my kids here anymore, nor their friends on playdates…just gonna go to like all the other places in the area where we won’t be treated...
Read moreDon't go here when I'm in town. I don't want to wait for my Banana Tub !!! I have been going to this place since I was 4 or 5. My Mom worked right down the street for a while - and - I would go there every day. I like it so much that when I lived in Juneau, Alaska for a while, a friend packaged me up a Banana Tub, put it on a direct flight and had it delivered to me as a surprise. It was still frozen when I got it. Packed in Dry Ice. I just took my 90+ year old wives parents there last week. Mom had to have what I was going to have. Usually when we travel, I split a banana split with her. This time, she wanted her own. I cannot blame her. So ---- she and I had banana tubs! Of course .. they serve all sorts of things. Food and Ice Cream. But - I'm there for the ice cream. Enjoy and .. save a...
Read moreMr. Frostie is a San Diego institution. It’s been here since the 40s, and has always been a go to for soft serve ice cream and shakes. I came here as a kid and fondly remember twist cones dipped in chocolate shell. Sitting at their tables and getting soft serve drilling all over your hands is a right of passage. Now that I’ve grown up, a little, I like a twist in a cup with chocolate dip on top. That way you get more harshened she’ll and don’t make as big of a mess.
The best part of Mr. Frosties is bringing my family here now. It’s the next generation, so 3rd in my family that gets to enjoy and I look forward to the next one after this too. My kid’s favorite is a twist with rainbow sprinkles.
Don’t forget they have excellent shakes and sundays too. You can’t really go wrong except to...
