This is the Thai place that actually got me into Thai coming from someone who hadn’t really enjoyed it before. It’s super quaint and beautiful with some of the nicest decoration I’ve seen in a restaurant of such quality. What I find amazing though, and has been a seller for me time and time again, is how cheap the food is and how amazing it tastes. The spring rolls cost 1$ and they’re actually huge and delicious. I’ve had cheap spring rolls that taste alright and soggy, but they’re always crunchy and the sauce that accompanies it is always buss. The Pad Thai is good. I don’t think i’m fit to be the ultimate judge on authenticity or taste because of my lacking experience with Thai Food, but it’s really good and it’s what made me try the cuisine again. I really enjoyed the dish though, and I recommend first time triers to get the Kids Pad Thai because it’s literally 7.50 USD, in this economy😼. The portion is also really big relative to how much I’m paying. I think next time I’ll go for the full size just because of how much I liked it, but I’m really happy they have these more “trial sized” Thai classics so people who don’t know the cuisine aa well can get a proper introduction. But aside from the food, I also love that they have an amazing beverage variety. They have all kinds of soda cans, but it seems like they specialize in the drinks they make there. I’ve had to limeade and it’s really yummy, although I loved the Mango Black Tea I had on this time the most. It was refreshing, and not overly sweet which I love whenever I’m drinking Iced Tea. Try this place out frr, and see if y’all vibe with it, but overallll...

Great addition to PB. Even with a number of existing Thai restaurants, this is a much-needed replacement for the sad diner that once resided here.

The open air and bright location is welcoming, but my review is only based on a takeout experience, so I can’t speak to dining in. I ordered online for pickup at a future time and the experience was seamless. One of the easiest online ordering interfaces I’ve used and a 15% discount for first-time users.

Initially I was surprised at the reasonable prices, wondering if quality would underwhelm or if portion sizes were small. My food was ready right on time and had definitely not been sitting around for awhile. You can skip the line at the register and the lady at the counter helped me immediately.

My initial concerns vanished before taking the first bite. The food smelled great, portions were substantial, and looked fresh. First bite corroborated reviews from the other locations - it’s delicious. I had the massaman curry with rice and veggies and it was scrumptious. My only qualm is that I wanted it spicy but it was extremely mild. Aside from a weak spice level, the chicken was excellent and curry was very flavorful. My friend ordered the drunken noodle which was equally fresh and delicious.

This is definitely going into my regular takeout rotation. Glad to see this block of Garnet gain another restaurant and I hope it can be successful. It was crowded on a...

Decided to give this new establishment a try for dinner tonight. I ordered the yellow curry with tofu, veggies and white rice while my partner ordered the number 25. Some fried meat dish with rice that came with a side bowl of broth. The food was excellent and I also ordered a Thai Iced Tea that was excellent. Their cups, cutlery, and containers say that they are compostable but we were eating in and would have appreciated reducing unnecessary waste (compostable or not) by utilizing restaurant owned dishes. We got something for our almost 2 year old from the kid's menu and the portion was a good size for the price. Bonus: our son loved his massaman chicken curry. I hope the owner reads this and takes note that neither restroom has a changing table for kids/babies and it's SO annoying. I know changing tables are only required in federal buildings but if new businesses want to promote community and family, then accomodations for families and community must be considered. Please consider installing changing tables in BOTH restrooms so families aren't forced out to their cars when a diaper change...

Very disappointed with the service. Do you expect to dine in with paper plates and plastic disposable spoons 🙄? Yes, they served us like that. Also, they gave us water in plastic cups and never bothered to add more. Taste was just ok, nothing exceptional. Stir fry was so dry and tasteless that we could not eat it with the rice. And above all, the benches were sticky! Yes, they were sticky as if they were not cleaned properly or someone has poured honey all over it. Tissue papers got stuck to it and out forearms were sticking as we leaned on them while eating. Totally disappointed👎.

My wife and I were visiting SD and looking for a walkable place to get some thai food. Didn't want to get any closer to the beach, so we landed on 55 Thai Kitchen. Looking at the photos ahead of time, I saw a picture of the pad thai, and you just have that feeling you know it's going to be good based on how it looks. It did not disappoint. The portions were very appropriate for the price. Atmosphere was great. Wish this place was down the street from my actual house. Will definitely consider returning again next time we visit. PS: Here's another pad thai photo.
