I don't know why it took my husband and I so long to try Scuderie and I'm so glad we did last night! We ordered a bottle of wine, prosciutto and burrata, the Nonna Pizza, Spaghetti Bolognese, and paparedelle formaggio which was way too much food for 2 people. Bill was $140 and we tipped 22% bc we didn't get the cheapest wine and ordered a TON of food and the service was very good. A date for 2 could easily be under $100 though. The bread they served with oil & vinegar and with Prosciutto and Burrata was excellent and the pizza dough was very fresh, their bread recipes are some of the best around (arguably better than Entoca & Cesarina). The Nonna Pizza was tasty, all the ingredients were so flavorful. I can see why everyone picking up to go orders had a pizza box. This could be my new favorite spot in PB for Napoleon style pizza. The pasta dishes were also very well balanced and you could tell everything was super fresh. I liked their Bolognese sauce bc I could actually see the meat chunks and whatever tomatoes they use are very, very ripe. The pasta dishes were very saucy, almost needed more pasta or should have asked for more bread to soak up the excess sauce which isn't a bad thing btw. Didn't get dessert bc we were too full, but there were like 10 dessert options (yes, one was Tiramisu). Service was phenomenal as well, dog friendly and heated outdoor patio, great wine selection at reasonable prices. Definitely adding this into our Italian Restaurant rotation immediately.

We visited San Diego to celebrate our anniversary and were looking for the authentic Italian cuisine. Scuderie Italia did not disappoint. The meal and atmosphere were so wonderful that we actually ended up coming back the next night for dinner and then once again for take out on the way to the airport to third day. The first meal consisted of a special of the week, a Regina Margareta pizza, with cheery tomatoes, basil, and amazing buffalo mozzarella. This was my favorite part of the meal and you could really appreciate the flavor of the wood fire oven and quality dough. We also got the goat cheese honey-walnut ravioli which were incredible. Finally we ordered a weekly special that was essentially a fried chicken cutlet with greens (maybe called chicken milanese?). It was perfectly cooked and the meal that was supposed to have left-overs was consumed at at once. Our server that first night was Emanuele, who was personable, friendly, professional, and really helped us to enjoy the meal. The next night we came back and had the truffle mushroom pizza and brochilini and tiramisu for dessert. The pizza was great, though I will say the sea salt crystals on top were at times a little large. Finally, the third day we stopped by on the way to the airport to grab some take out. Again we got the Regina margarita (Sorry for misspellings) and the ravioli. Quite delicious again. Sadly we don't live in the neighborhood or we would certainly be frequent customers.

3rd time there, THE WORST, a Wed night @ 6:30pm, place 1/2 full only. Caesar Salad worse than usual, shrimp app weak with anorexic shrimp & very off sauce, server (short, thicker Italian man says he’s the night manager tonight) FORGOT or mis-ordered my wife’s eggplant parmesan (food runner says the server ordered her “Lasagna”, & will now tell kitchen to re-do, nothing back 5-10 mins, omg…and my chicken scallopini DROWNING in way to heavy sauce & near UNEATABLE! $25. ?). So, I try to eat my entree & my wife has NO ENTREE & has to stare at me…so I give her 1/2 of mine & we leave…the missing & 100% clueless Server/Night Manager gives hers “to-go” as leaving…a nice dinner out gone wrong @ Scuderie Italia. BTW, we asked if the Owner was in, they said no. As they say, “when the cat is away, the mice play.” No Owner = No Good Stuff! Strike 3. They’re out…

1st visit: Food was good (4), but service was HORRIBLE (0), so average 2, but I will add one point to be nice. The cause, our troubled & overwhelmed & CLUELESS & chronically missing server, a tall skinny heavily arm-tattooed Italian guy working the GROSS & DIRTY rear patio area. Yep, food on the floor, walls dirty, no nice decor even, the single bathroom without toilet paper & NO PAPER TOWELS even (how dry your face after washing it after meal or before meal as sweaty after 4 mile walk just prior or wanna wipe a drop of tomato sauce off your nice white shirt before leaving?). Not here.

Need a refill of your purchased fluid/bubbly water while eating so don’t CHOKE or DIE, need or want or desire food or plates to eat on (yes, our single pasta dish 2nd course was to be shared) after ordering it 30-40 minutes ago, need utensils to eat pasta or entrees with, need or offered the yummy shredded parmesan on the table nearby for your Caesar salad or later pasta dish or basic service, need or try to get change for your $100. bill handed to the server?????? If you do, do NOT ask our server or go to Scuderie Italia in PB. Our young & sweet circulating boy busboy was our go to, he actually can see your wave as he walks near. Yes, we only tipped him…our dinner rescuer! Our server was HORRIBLE & owed us money $$$. Our bill $120. for two, no liquor even.

And yes, the owner & his wife (The Landinis I read) were present & hosting another couple a few tables over & OBLIVIOUS to it all, they more into drinking their brought in cased & expensive bubbly wine & talking about EXPENSIVE RACE CARS it seems, then making sure their paying GUESTS having a good time or good service or meal !!! Poor biz etiquette & biz skills & biz manners. NOT a good sign, OMINOUS I say & predict !!! And they want to grow their biz to Las Vegas & …. ? Think twice. One step at a time guys. Manage & maximize what you already have. Greed kills. Weak restaurants & bizzes FAIL. Wake up. Ciao,...

I went here to try the food because it was recommended to me and I really enjoyed it. The food was great and flavorful. Not too rich and you can tell fresh ingredients were used. I’m giving this a 3 star review because my server “Emilo” was unnecessarily rude and disinterested in serving us. From the start I could tell something was up because there was no greeting, he just came up to my table and looked at us and didn’t say anything. We asked if he was okay and he grunted, said “what do you want?”, then just left without writing anything down when we asked for some drinks also saying please. He didn’t come back to take our order or give us our drinks, and we had to flag another waiter down to get him for us. He wouldn’t answer any of our questions about the food and cut us off after taking two out of three of our orders. We had to finish it up with another person. We waited longer than usual for our food and had to flag ANOTHER waiter down to get emilo for us and when he came he slammed the food down causing some of the pasta to spill onto the table then scoffed and left. It was cold and I’m pretty sure he intentionally left it out because he doesn’t like us for some reason?? We were very respectful the whole time time but this was so baffling and such a horrible experience. I hope this guy gets fired or fixes his attitude because the whole experience was messed up due to him being an asshole. The restaurant itself is great and the food is too. We never got our drinks and our moods were dampened due to his own personal problems. If you ever go here make sure to request a new waiter if...
