Wow, I've only done a couple other escape rooms previously, but I think Nightwalker Caverns is now on my top list. My group of o friends and I planned a trip to San Diego and a escape room was on our list of things to do. Luckily, this location was able to accommodate our group of 14! We had one group do the clownatorium room and the other did the hotel. We did our escape room back in September at night around 8PM. Upon entering, it was a little confusing trying to figure out where the entrance was. We first went upstairs to the door which turned out to be an exit, and then to the main entrance on the bottom floor. We knocked on the door with no answer and we were confused, so my friend called them and turns out a group was still finishing. No biggie! I don't want to spoil the rooms, but we were amazed by the effects and the challenges you had to do. Everything was super fun. The owner of Nightwalker and the other two game masters, Griffin and our clown (I forgot his name unfortunately!) were amazing. You have unlimited clues in the form of riddles. They were even so kind to let us tour each others' escape room once everyone was finished! They showed us the cool nooks and crannies of the other room. They let us take our time, we finally left the building at around 11:30PM. A friendly reminder that the rooms are on the mature side, and the minimum age to book is 14 years old. Our clown made some hilarious NSFW jokes while we were scrambling around to find out clues for our room. I highly recommend this escape room to anyone that is visiting San Diego!

Multiple rooms. Excellent interactive challenges that build logically upon themselves. 10/10 recommend.

Went last night (newbies to the escape world), we did the "clownatorium upside down" room & it was awesome. We we're a group of 4 ppl & it was so much fun. The owner is such a nice guy and very personable. Loved hearing about his quest through I believe it was 252 rooms (not literally all 252 stories ,but he told us about a couple of them and then overall the # of rooms he's done altogether.) We didn't have the room that his daughter was in ,but she was awesome to. Everyone there is super friendly , customer service was wonderful. The clues were so good and the advice they give you is spot on. "When in doubt, follow the 🤡 clown!" Simon & Austin did a great job ! We will definitely be returning to conquer more of the other rooms this place has to offer ! Highly recommend this place , do yourself a favor go have fun , you'll find it here ! Great job guys.

Me and 5 of my coworkers played the clownatorium 2 upside down last night. It was really hard for us to all manage our schedules for a date and time because we work in a hospital and our shifts are different. We must have called this company 10 times before we could put together a date to play. The staff was AWESOME and worked with us through the whole time to make sure we got a date and time that worked for us. When we arrived one of our team members was late but they still let us play. We were so relieved that they were so NICE about it! When we went in we were all AMAZED at the story line and how all the puzzles fit into a carnival theme. I have played close to 100 rooms and I have NEVER had this much FUN! We laughed and were able to chat with the actor in the room and NEVER felt lost. This is a really complex and intriguing escape room and the actor in the room made sure that we kept moving forward so that we could finish in the 90 minute time period they gave us. This escape room is actually 6 rooms that you have to work through and ALL of the puzzles are carnival type games and NO simple boxes to unlock with a key like other rooms we have been in. I don’t want to spoil the fun for anyone by telling you too much, but the moment you enter the room you know you are going to have an AWESOME TIME! After we finished the room, we went into the party room and had a little holiday party which was icing on the cake for us. The lights, music and atmosphere of this place make you feel like you’ve really gone to a carnival. What else can I say except that if you LOVE escape rooms you WILL LOVE this place! I’ve done almost every room in San Diego and this is by far the BEST room I have ever done! You have to SEE IT...

I dont say this lightly, and I generally dont review anything unless my experience was total sh*t or absolutely wonderful. This was the latter. An absolute incredible amount of love and care have gone into crafting this experience. This is art. It breaks the review mold. It should be at least 7 stars. The website and related materials do not even come close to doing this justice as far as the fun puzzle/adventure you'll have. If you're even remotely interested, 100% do it. We did the clownatorium 2 challenge, and it had all 8 of us doing work all over the place.

There were 6 rooms to work through, but it wasn't totally linear. There were multiple puzzles per room, and backtracking might reveal multiple paths to success. Opening a door didnt just move the action to the next room, it expanded the game board. Some things required coordination. Some were scary leaps of faith. There were just so many little challenges and surprises and funny little discoveries and you might find something in room 5 that completes a puzzle in room 2. There were personal touches, beautiful art and light design, and an overall game space that's fun, challenging, and comfortable. I expected it to be warm and stuffy but if you run cold you might even want a sweater. Beyond the excellence of the game itself, they went the extra mile to make us truly feel like guests in their adventure and not just customers in their store. I cant speak highly enough about what they're doing here and if you haven't tried a room here, or even played a room ever before, do it. Just do it. It's some of the best money I've spent in a long time and I cant wait to go back to try the harder challenge. A....
