My husband and I have been attending this church as members for a couple of years. When we got engaged, we enrolled in the parish's marriage preparation program and their Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program to finish some of our missing sacraments. Deacon Dino Serafini prepared us and officiated our rite of marriage, and Elena Platas and Roman Becerra led our preparation to become fully initiated Catholics. All of them are some of the kindest and wisest people I've had the pleasure to meet. They are very welcoming and genuinely care about the people attending our parish. We had ~160 guests on our wedding day, with lots of space for up to ~200 guests in the parish. We also had a live mariachi band play at our wedding. We opted for very minimal decorations, as the church is beautiful already. In all, we are very happy to have married at St. Didacus, and we look forward to continuing to attend this parish for years to come.

St. Didacus Church is a beautiful church with an outstanding staff. They scheduled my father's funeral mass on the first Friday of lent when no other Catholic church in San Diego would. The priest also volunteered to come to the burial site after the mass to bless the final resting place. My mother still talks about how blessed we were to find St. Didacus. Thank you and God bless you.

I recently attended Mass at a church in San Diego County as part of my goal to visit different churches in the area. While I found it challenging to understand the priest at times, I appreciated the opportunity to experience the service and learn more about the church community. The community seemed very close-knit and welcoming.

When I needed to find a new school for my children I first thought , "where was the most welcoming church that I have been to near my home in San Diego?" So without a doubt, I recalled my first time I went to St. Didacus church , when Father Michael was the priest. I always left with a sense of spiritual fulfillment and I always felt welcomed into this church, that I knew no one. I think that it is pretty special to feel that way . ...to sit in the house of God among strangers and feel that you belong to a family. Now that we are attending the parish school, I see where that love for community and church comes from. If you attend the church and are not able to afford the school, I encourage you to speak to Father Rey directly. There are always ways to help out families in need. And all parishioners children should have a path to come to the school. I really value the community that is here at Saint Didacus. It really is a step above some of the other local parishes. Si asiste a la misa de St. Didacus y su hijo no va a la escuela, hable con el padre Rey y deje que lo ayude a encontrar la manera de que su hijo reciba la educación católica que se merece. Esta es tu parroquia también. No te sientas avergonzado. Eres...
