Salon Bordeaux — Local services in San Diego

This review is for their bridal hair services. I had done a hair trial with another independent stylist and was not feeling it at all and thinking I might just do my own hair. When I showed my now sister in law the hair styles I liked she recommended her salon (Salon Bordeaux). Sure enough when I saw their Instagram, I loved all the looks they did. At this point it was only 5 weeks out from my wedding though so I was sure they'd be booked up already. By some grand stroke of luck, I was able to connect with Corie and she was able to shift her schedule to accommodate my party of three on my wedding day. It was at the hair trial though that I knew how lucky I had gotten to find Corie. This women knows hair and knows how to style it. As soon as she started working with my hair, I could tell I was in good hands. She listened to what I wanted, looked at my Pinterest board, and gave my three different hairstyles that day that were all gorgeous. On the day of, I decided to just do a down coiffed classic wavy look, but I'm very particular about my waves and volume and she hit it out of the park. It somehow looked even better than the trial and held up all day and night. On top of this, Corie is very reasonably priced and a delight to work with. I live in Arizona but was in town and needed a cut so decided to give Salon Bordeaux a try. The area is super cute (Starbucks across the street and antique shops down the way) and the salon is adorable. Very cool and hip yet comfortable. I especially liked the retro/vintage hair dryers, posters, etc. on display!

I had my hair cut with Jess who was amazing. I have had the same hair cut/style forever and she made some really good suggestions and let me decide what I wanted to do. She's super talented at what she does.

I also made an appointment for a facial and waxing which they were able to get me in at the last minute. The products were top notch (Phytomer from France) and the esthetician couldn't have been nicer. Yes, you can hear a bit what is going on outside but it wasn't distracting in any way.

Plan to arrive a bit early to find parking. It's a cool, busy area so it's not surprising that it's sometimes hard to find a spot! A great place to buy someone a gift certificate to get pampered. I will definitely be coming back each time I'm in...

The salon is nice and the other hairdressers seem really professional and kind. That being said I had an appointment with Liz, and even though she did a good job on my hair, it was a terrible experience. I've honestly never had a stylist be so unwelcoming and unfriendly in my life. She started the appt by saying she doesn't talk while foiling and then proceeded to practically give me the cold shoulder for my entire appt (4 and a half hours!!) I have shoulder length hair and I dont think my service was worth over 500! Overall I was super disappointed and I won't ever be coming back.
