Unique place with the view on open water, where swimming enthusiasts crossing waters back and forth, some wearing just swimming trunks and bikinis, the rest wearing protective suits. There is a shower head for swimmers to cleanse after the swim. On display are propellers from the ship built one hundred years ago. One can see damage to propellers by water and air bubbles by a process of cavitation. There's a row of the ships from different periods, steamers, tall ships with the masts and sails, some from modern era. In all, this is beautiful place and way to recharge and contemplate before or after visiting energetic pier area with its restaurants and entertainment.

Small shopping center right in the middle of fisherman's wharf, down the street from pier 39. There are a lot of shops and a few decent places to eat. If you're spend the day at the wharf/pier you will probably make your way over here eventually, and there will probably be something for you to do or see. There is a parking structure here which is nice.

Anchorage Square Mall, located near Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, offers a convenient and compact shopping experience for tourists and locals alike. While it’s not a large or traditional mall, its location and selection of shops, dining options, and attractions make it a worthwhile stop in the area.

Location and Accessibility

Anchorage Square is perfectly situated in the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf, making it an easy stop for visitors exploring nearby attractions like Pier 39 or Ghirardelli Square. Its proximity to the waterfront and public transportation adds to its convenience. Parking is available in the area, though it can be pricey given the neighborhood.

Shops and Services

The mall hosts a mix of shops that cater primarily to tourists, offering everything from souvenir stores to specialty boutiques. While it may not have the variety of a traditional shopping center, it provides essentials like convenience stores, bike rentals, and tour services. Anchorage Square is more functional than glamorous, which suits its purpose as a tourist hub.

Dining Options

Dining is one of the stronger points of Anchorage Square. It features a handful of casual eateries and coffee shops, including local favorites and well-known chains. You can grab a quick bite before continuing your sightseeing or sit down to enjoy a meal with views of the bustling area.

Atmosphere and Ambiance

The mall is clean and well-maintained, though it lacks the high-end appeal of other shopping centers in San Francisco. It’s more of a practical stop for essentials or a quick meal than a destination for luxury shopping or extended browsing. That said, its lively atmosphere reflects the energy of Fisherman’s Wharf.

Overall Impression

Anchorage Square Mall is a convenient and functional spot for those exploring Fisherman’s Wharf. While it doesn’t stand out as a shopping destination on its own, its location and offerings make it a useful stop for travelers in the area. It’s a great place to pick up souvenirs, grab a bite, or plan the next leg of your San...

Anchorage Square has always been one of my favorite spots to pass through when I am at Fisherman’s Wharf. I have been here many times and it never disappoints. The square has so much going on with restaurants, shops, and attractions all packed into one place, and it is right in the middle of everything that makes the Wharf so fun. I can spend hours here just walking around, grabbing food, checking out the shops, and people watching.

The location makes it even better. From Anchorage Square I can step right out to the waterfront, Pier 39, or Ghirardelli Square. It feels like the center of everything with so many choices for food and shopping right at my fingertips. I love that I can grab a bite whether I am in the mood for seafood, pizza, or something quick on the go, and then jump right back into exploring. The shops are fun too, with a mix of souvenirs, local finds, and familiar favorites.

What really makes Anchorage Square stand out to me is the atmosphere. There is always a buzz of activity with street performers around and people from all over the world passing through. It has that exciting, lively energy that I think of whenever I picture Fisherman’s Wharf. It is also super convenient because I can park nearby, eat, shop, and then head out to the piers without any hassle.

For me Anchorage Square is more than just a place to shop and eat, it is part of the whole Fisherman’s Wharf experience. It has the food, the stores, the energy, and the location that makes me want to come back every time I am in...

Forget the ticket validation. Don't be lured to park here because of that. The establishments will just tell you they ran out of validation stickers. You end up buying from the establishments and still pay the full parking rates. I kept the purchase receipts to serve as proof when paying at the exit booth instead of the self automated pay. Hoping that the attendant would give me the validation credit by showing the receipt from Starbucks. The attendant on duty (11/28/15 6:30pm Fire this guy!) was not helpful... His only respond, the machine needs the stickers to be read and given the credit due. I informed him that the establishments I went to - Starbucks, Auntie Anne's have ran out of stickers. I asked why won't you guys provide sufficient number of stickers to all the establishments.... I then found out that the establishments themselves have to purchase the stickers from the parking place which they then would give to the customers. Well, why would the establishments have to buy if it's easier to say to the customers that they ran out of it. This way they don't have to spend money to buy the parking validation...cuts overhead costs at the same time they get this influx of customers buying their products which they will then say they ran out of stickers. Forget this place... Just go to Pier 39...
