Los Yaquis Méx Restaurant. — Restaurant in San Francisco

On some days you just crave that perfect made guacamole chips and salsa and yesterday was such a day. Los Yaquis came to the rescue and delivered and then some. I really enjoyed this experience, the place was busy , customers were waiting outside but I was lucky to get a spot at the community table. Impressive, the front of the house was run by a single lady but she kept the orders going and food delivered without feeling that you were waiting around. I tried their fish ceviche and pork belly with guacamole. The ceviche was nice but I think I should have ordered the combination with octopus and shrimp to get some extra texture and flavor. The pork belly was beautiful and so was the guacamole. It's a rather large portion and better for sharing. The tamarind margarita was a perfect way to round it all off. The server changed the bill on us. The itemized bill on the right was brought to us first, with all correct amounts. Then when he brought our card back for us to add tip, I noticed the subtotal was higher than the original, and therefore tax and tip options were higher. I brought this to his attention and he said it was a mistake and he must have put in the table number or something. It was obvious it was intentional and he was counting on us not noticing. He offered cash because it would “take a few days to go back into our account”, but I insisted it be credited back to our card and for a new receipt. Very shady and so many other better options to eat at. But if you do go, def double check...

I had not been to Los Yaquis for quite some time. The zarandeado fish was phenomenal, as always. Unfortunately, there was some confusion during the ordering, and we got the pescado frito. We were going to eat it, but it was severely overcooked and dry. Trying to give it back was a hassle. With a 300$+ tab, we should not be receiving so much lip from a waitress. Maybe she was having a bad day, but being in the service industry, the condescending tone and slowly saying f-r-i-t-o as if we did not understand what that meant was an ugly experience.
