Rude and Unprofessional Staff
TL;DR: Don’t go here if you value respect and humanity.
I came to the store today to drop off some designer clothing that no longer fits me, but the staff was incredibly rude. Shortly after walking in towards to the counter, a staff member wearing a black cap and glasses bluntly asked, “Something wrong?” in a condescending tone, as if I was doing something wrong by simply being there.
My friend asked whether we could drop off clothes, and we were told they don’t accept donations. That’s fine, but the rude attitude was completely uncalled for. Even another customer walking out behind us sympathized with how poorly we were treated.
It’s one thing not to accept donations, but it’s another to treat customers so disrespectfully. This kind of behavior is unprofessional and reflects poorly on the business. I definitely won’t be coming back, and this experience doesn’t even deserve one star.
To that staff member: the name “Goodwill” doesn’t suit you. I hope you find better meaning in your work and life. Treating people with kindness costs nothing.
To the owner: please train your employees to use proper tone and manners. A simple “How can I help?” instead of “Something wrong?” would make a world of difference to customers who are just walking in. No one deserves to be treated this way in your store. If you want to be selective about who comes into your store, perhaps you should operate a...
Read moreUpdate 10/2025…Format has changed dramatically and no longer has the “boutique” feel. Success and popularity I feel have caused this downgrade. Folks are still nice. But the quality and vibe have gone down and the store feels more like an unorganized and ordinary thrift store. I did score a new with tags J Crew linen blazer for half price at $7. I miss the old format and hope management is listening.
From 2 years ago…I just recently got into thrifting after watching YouTube creators like Alyssa Beltempo and understanding more about how good it can be to purchase previously loved clothes. This Goodwill Boutique is in our neighborhood and people “in the know” line up before it opens for the latest stock. I’ve definitely scored by being patient and visiting frequently. Leather boots made in Argentina for $15, a Theory blazer $30 that retails for over $150 new, cashmere hoodie for $30 that retails for $80 used on Poshmark, an awesome midi cardigan new with tags for $20. The folks working there are attentive but leave you to your shopping for the most part. I wish I could try on clothes but I’ve managed. I’ve been thrilled with what I’ve found, and look forward to...
Read moreI am regularly shopping at this boutique location and I love this store but yesterday I feel like the encouragemant to DONATE AND ROUND UP become a MANDATORY (or mandatory expectation) at checking out??. I donated my clothes to GW, I shop at GW and now that cashier gave me the attitude when I said I wanted to skip the donations and round up this time. That Chinese lady told to another man in suit who is also staff there that I don’t want to round up even 8 pennies . What in the world! She kept going back and forth for 10s and finally said “no problems no donation no round up” and let me swipe my card. I have no problem why she had problem??. She tried to make me feel bad and using guilt tripping to embarrass me??. I know you have to ask but Please stop the attitude! No, thank you , how about rounding down, my purchase and everything I just paid will...
