Akua Nail Salon — Local services in San Francisco

I advise people to stay away. I asked for my nails to be done like one of the salon’s pictures with clear polish and sparkled tips. Seemed cute and simple.

Turned out like this. To save on time and resources, she kept the previous gel polish on. She dipped my entire hands in acetone for removal (never had this happen before at a salon). At the end, she didn’t manicure my nail beds. The polish even goes over my skin, as you can see from my pictures.

After service, I brought up the discoloration and oddities in my nails but the technician dismissed me and said it was my fault. My index nail ended up breaking a few days later.

I am pursuing a refund. If you see this review up, that means I have not received it yet for such a poorly done service.

UPDATE: I had to cut off all my natural nails, the polish was peeling off after a week already and two more of my nails got damaged. Still...

This is Akua Nails, not beauty supply. Google has the name wrong. Perfect nails every time for many years. Easy to book. Free street parking. Located on the corner at the streetcar turn at 15th and Taraval Street in San Francisco.
