I took a class with Reza Ebrahimi after doing some light research on his Instagram. He is an advanced teacher but taught an all levels Vinyasa flow and he is a very disciplined and alignment driven teacher. In particular, I received a lot of hands on adjustments (which is rare during this time, given covid-19 and that’s really the reason why I go to practice in person–you just can’t adjust yourself all the time to make sure your alignment is correct.)
Pros 1.) Beautiful studio with changing rooms and bathrooms (no showers, but I don’t think they do very hot yoga classes) 2.) The instructors are high quality (they don’t churn through them)
Cons 1.) You have to be buzzed in through a non-descriptive door and walk up 5 flights of stairs to get to the studio (this is only really a problem the first time you go because it’s a little bit hard to find the studio, although their email covers how to get there in detail); I understand why they do this–it’s for security reasons, given the studio is in an unfortunate part of the Mission (conveniently located next to the 16th St. and Mission St. BART station.) 2.) The incense is pretty intense at the beginning of practice but once it burns down, it’s not as strong smelling (December 2024 update: they haven’t used as much...
Read moreI just had the most incredible experience at Juan’s yoga class! From the moment I walked into the studio, I knew I was in for something special. The setting was simply breathtaking—large windows provided a stunning sunset view that set the perfect backdrop for the class.
Juan is an exceptional instructor whose passion and expertise are evident in every moment of the class. His teaching style is a beautiful blend of fun and spirituality. He guided us through each pose with clear, supportive instructions while encouraging us to connect with our inner selves. His energy is contagious, and he has an amazing ability to make everyone feel both challenged and at ease.
I left feeling rejuvenated and deeply connected to both myself and the environment around me. This class was more than just a workout; it was a truly uplifting experience. If you’re looking for a yoga class that combines physical practice with spiritual enrichment, Juan’s class is an absolute must-try. I’m already looking forward to my...
Read moreI attended a sound bath meditation at Haum on December 10 and it was just amazing. It was my first time to the studio and Danni (one of the owners) greeted me so warmly, making me feel right at home. The meditation itself lasted about 80 minutes and was accompanied by a musician (so sorry I don't remember his name) playing traditional Turkish instruments. This was a special holiday event as a kind of thank you to regulars and I nevertheless felt very welcomed. The meditation itself produced the kind of state that I typically only arrive at after a rigorous yoga session - a state in which I was able to separate from my thoughts and simply observe them without attachment. I was a bit taken aback by this given it usually requires exhausting my body a bit. I feel like this was at least in part a testament to how comfortable I felt in the space despite being a newbie which is not my usual state. Wonderful studio and warm inviting people. I'm looking forward...
