2/14/21- Placed an order via Uber Eats for the family tenders and added buffalo sauce as an up charge.
Upon receiving my order, I was delighted with a wave of seasonings from the food and was excited to try this restaurant especially seeing this this establishment is black owned. However, upon returning upstairs this delight abruptly turned into disappointment.
Although I commend Aramex for using biodegradable packaging and encouraging their customers to recycle, the order was packaged terribly. The chicken tenders box was drenched in grease and was torn open upon retrieval. The boxes and paper box were covered in a spilled hot sauce which made storing such meal in the containers nearly impossible as well as a timely clean up before even tasting my meal. Not to mention, with a family sized fry I was given handfuls of additional hot sauce rather than providing ketchup which I was unable to manually request or add myself when placing the order online.
Now that we’ve surpassed the mayhem with unpacking my order lets discuss the quality of the food.... My fries where crisp and hot, yet greasy and lacked any flavor in which even the dozens of hot sauce packets couldn’t aid. The mac and cheese was just that; thick, creamy but standard. Not amazing, but far from terrible and to be fair the most enjoyable thing which I received. The tenders themselves were in great portion and flavorful, yet once again greasy. The blueberry biscuits which were included in my meal were basically paperweights in the sense that they were so hard I literally was able to bang then against the counter with only a few crumbs as a result of the impact. As far as I’m concerned, they were boarder-line inedible.
The restaurant has great potential, but as it stands could use some simple improvements to make their service a 4...
Read moreIs this Cajun Fried Chicken Co on Doordash? It has the same address. If not, I can remove my review. I ordered the BBQ, Teriyaki, and Honey Mustard chicken wings on Doordash. My first impression when it came with a big bag of sauce is like...what? I thought that the chicken flavors would be seasoning or sauce mixed in with the chicken. But turns out it was just dipping sauce which is fine. I think it would be better if people knew that the sauce was on the side. The honey mustard sauce is from Ken's which is a salad dressing which is...okay I guess. The barbecue sauce is from Sweet Baby Rays. The "teriyaki" sauce is most definitely not teriyaki sauce, it is soy sauce. Maybe they bought the wrong sauce from their supplier? lol. First bite of the chicken, it was really salty. There is some cajun seasoning on the chicken but barely noticeable. But please hold the salt so I don't get high blood pressure. The meat was juicy so I give them that. For the price of the meal with all the discounts on Doordash, it is worth the price. It was $8 for 5 pieces without discount, what a steal! I haven't heard of other chicken places this cheap. It's not the best fried chicken...
Read moreTried to charge $3.99 each for chicken thighs despite the menu specifically calling out 2 piece dark meat for $5.99. Tried to claim I “didn’t read the sign” and even pointed out the sign (which supported my price expectations.) She was incredibly rude and kept rolling her eyes dramatically at me. Insisted that the two-piece dark meat didn’t mean two thighs which as we all know are dark meat. Nowhere on the menu does it say anything about there being specific pieces that must be chosen to count. Then when I was leaving she made this big dramatic cartoonish wave and in a singsong voice called out “byeeeeeeeee” with a mocking smile! Absolutely stunning performance. Just literally the rudest service I’ve encountered in years. Update your menu if you want to make special rules. It’s a Krispy Krunchy franchise so we’ll see what corporate thinks about their franchisees acting like...
