Read moreSF native here! My husband is not from here and I was so happy to introduce him to this taqueria but Every.SingleTime. he orders, they get it wrong. Ordered al pastor today and they gave him carnitas. It was an over the phone order and I even ask them to repeat the order (anytime I call anywhere I do this) and I offered to give them my name for when I pick up, but they said it wasn't necessary. I did that so they wouldn't mess up. But, they did.. They are just so busy all the time their quality of service has gone down and the prices have gone up. Not sure why this place is so popular with my recent experiences over the last 3 years. Makes me sad but this is the reality of this place now. Also, the person manning the phones would pick up and put it on the table, and after a while would answer. So I could hear them talking while I waited for her to talk to me on the phone. When I called back to complain, she denied it and said she's been manning the phones all day. I told her that I called 3x today and every single time this happened, one time it even hung up. She was nice and acknowledged the mistake but still super frustrating to drive all the way into a not so nice area with no parking from far away to just be super disappointed time and time again over the last 3 years specifically. If you comb through the reviews you will see a varying degrees of disappointment over the long term customers. We can all see/feel how the post pandemic era has affected all of the mission and has unfortunately gone down hill. But, yeah if order, go watch them build it I guess. Wouldn't recommend ordering on the phone because they seem to not pay attention due to high volumes. Maybe even watch out if you door...

First time I had this place was before COVID and I was a little taken aback that I had no criticisms of my burrito. It was the perfect size, wrapped tightly, every ingredient in there was placed how it needed to with no weird pockets of sour cream at the end or only guacamole at the beginning. Every employee working the line was efficient, friendly, clean.
Their self serve salsa bar was impeccable even with the entire restaurant filled and patrons filling their salsa cups every minute.
An employee came by to refill all of the salsas that were kept CHILLED in order for food safety. And he also clean any spills that happened on the salsa bar.
Second visit was during COVID. I ordered through google and my order was early, I was greeted by friendly staff and made sure my order was correct before giving it to me.
I got a prawn burrito this time and it was 10/10 amazing. Perfectly cooked, ingredients spread out evenly like they’re supposed to be, and the order was indeed accurate.
I know I’m raving about what restaurants should be doing but to see it happen over and over again is why this restaurant has such plentiful and high ratings.
By far my favorite burrito spot in SF. A little bummed that it’s so far from me but that’s not their problem.
Highly recommend. You will not be...
