Castro Station is the Gateway to SF. history. The Epicenter of the Castro. The Castro Station can be accessed using the SFMTA K-T, M lines. These are underground Light Rail Vehicles. On the top side, Castro Station can be accessed using the SFMTA 24/37/L Bus lines. The F- Line street car is also located at Castro & Market. Exiting Castro Station you will have access to Hot Cookie, Castro St. Theater, Twin Peaks Bar, Soul cycle, Cliff's Variety and many other interesting places. The food choices are spectacular since you can find Mediterranean food, Mexican food, Pizza, and Steak & Chicken specialty restaurants. Spending a day around Castro can be easily accomplished.

One of the best Muni Metro stations. Castro Station has been clean every time I've been there. The faregate level stretches over the rails, so it's a nice place to be if you're a transit enthusiast and want to watch some LRVs (light rail vehicles). The boarding platforms are about a block long and have a few benches. There are also screens that tell you when the next trains will arrive. Outside the station is a giant pride flag and the Harvey Milk Plaza which has some information and photos. This station is within walking distance to the Castro Theatre and Hot Cookie.

Opens around 450am for the first Muni Metro subway. Offers 4 different options to get to SF downtown or as referenced with signs INBOUND. You can catch the K L M or T. And it's pretty efficient unless you're in peak...Rush hours are definitely packed 7-830am and getting off 530-7pm. PSA and signs tell you when the next trains are coming. $2.50 a ride with your Clipper Card. For a long subway station, I wish they would attach 2 more cars to each of the lines... At least during rush hour traffic. It would make it even more enjoyable.

Coming from a traveler's perspective, I'm sure most of the MUNI stations are super busy on weekdays, but when we were here during Thanksgiving weekend, they were not. And it seemed like the Castro Street Station was the least crowded of them all.

After experiencing the beautiful stations of Washington D.C., these can't compare in terms of cleanliness and architectural design, but, they get the job done. On a positive note, the stations are more easily accessible because they're not as deep underground.

This station puts you in the heart of the Castro at Castro & Market streets. A huge rainbow flag flies proudly above. Nearby sights include the Castro Theater, shops, bars, and restaurants.

MUNI pricing was cheap. Inside, the trains were in good shape, pretty clean, with loud and clear...
