We spent a couple of nights here and had a very pleasant experience. As you drive up into this hotel, the first thing you notice is their “stained glass entrance” which covers your vehicle and is an awesome site to look at.
The lobby was very well decorated with leather furniture and beautifully decorated and it looked like you were staying at a 5-star hotel!
Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted and after checking in we went up to the top floor where we enjoyed a glass of wine along with some cheese.
The “Den or Club House” was very spacious and had a nice fireplace along with tables for games and a large TV.
During our short stay, I also took advantage of their complimentary hot chocolate, coffee, and on site restaurant.
If my memory serves me correctly, this is a “Shell owned property” and we were asked about their “time share presentation,” which encompassed a short presentation along with a cash voucher which we declined because we already owned property in Hawaii.
I knew how pushy or insistent they can be so I made it very clear from the start that we didn’t want to be asked about it again and they honored “our/my” request not to be bothered about it.
Although this hotel is expensive and is within walking distance to Union Square, there is plenty of activities to shops and eateries close by or a short drive, taxi, or other public transportation to wherever you may be heading for the day.
Since we drove we had valet parking and the staff never complained if we had to take our vehicle out multiple times during our short stay.
Some of the amenities that is included at this hotel is a concierge who is helpful and very well informed of the local attractions and offered us discounts at certain venues or what was available at the time.
Since I grew up in the Bay Area most of my life I knew everything that San Francisco had to offer.
There is a small fitness center, spa, sauna along with shower facilities, which leads out to an open patio with a view of the city.
Our room was very clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable rests I’ve had in a while. Of course, walking around the city all day helped!
In the morning, we had the daily paper delivered to our door and after a fun filled day in the city our room and bed was made and had the “turn down service, which made your stay special.
Our room came with a kitchenette, which included a small microwave and mini frig, perfect for reheating any leftovers from your daily outing. The room also included complimentary popcorn, coffee along with an assortment of tea.
Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed our time in and around San Francisco. The one thing that stands out the most about this hotel is the cleanliness, the warm reception, and helpful staff during our short stay here. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a...
Read moreBEWARE!!! Imagine you have part ownership in a place and one of the employees repeatedly disrespects you over the phone. What would you do? What if despite your fiduciary interest in the place you are powerless to address this person? Well, that's unfortunately the situation for my girlfriend and I when it comes to our interactions with Donny. You see, my girlfriend is a owner in the Wyndham Owners club. She used some points to book a room for Saturday night and then added an additional booking for the following night which, unfortunately, represented a separate booking since it was added after the fact. As she's an owner, naturally, The Donetello team solicited us both to attend their timeshare seminar on Sunday IN EXCHANGE for two days worth of free parking. We check out, and because the bookings were under two different reservations, the clerk applies the comp for only one day and subsequently, we receive a charge for the additional day after we've long departed the hotel. Okay, things happen. This is a reputable hotel so they'll course correct quickly and we'll be on our way, right? WRONG! My girlfriend calls to remedy the matter and gets Donny on the phone. He says he'll look into it and get back to her. He doesn't return her call as promised. What's worse is that every time she tries to call back, the phone rings indefinitely with no answer. A major hotel not answer their main line? Maybe once or twice, but she attempted several times over multiple days... After her last attempt, she says to me, I wonder if they're screening calls and recognize my number. She has me call right immediately following... Donny answers in one ring. I try to work with Donny to remedy and he tells me that there's nothing he can do (with a very condescending tone of course). This matter can only be resolved by a supervisor or manager and they won't be back to the hotel until next week. Hmm, so no supervisor or manager for a week at a 4-star hotel? Odd, but okay. What's more, Donny says that if I want a timely solution to the matter, I need to call back on Monday and ask to speak with manager, Tiffany. I asked why I would need to prompt the solve on this by calling on Monday. Why wouldn't Donny try to work the problem proactively. He said that if I wanted to wait until the matter was resolved after how ever long it would take to run it's course, I would not need to call. However, if I wanted a timely resolution I would need to call and instigate the resolution with management. WOW! SERIOUSLY?! An affluent 4+ star hotel and part of the Wyndham brand no less? Why do I have to clean up their clerical error? Why don't they empathize with their customers enough to reassure and resolve? Why would you even let someone with a negative attitude be your main customer touch...
Read moreIt was our first time staying at this hotel, we were in town for a friend's wedding and decided to stay 4 nights. We are a couple in our mid 30s and experienced a really awkward moment because of our age and my ethnicity (my gf is white and I'm Spanish). When we arrived we were coerced into attenting some marketing pitch on our last day there (we were just trying to check in, who expects a sales pitch upon checking into a room you've already paid for?!) we got numerous phone calls(about 4-5) and even a typed letter about attending their pitch to sell us timeshares. A bit excessive I think. We made the mistake of agreeing to attend during check in and they charged $20 to my credit card (which they would later release). I went down the last day to attend their sales pitch, the older (60s) white gentleman that i was meeting with was clearly shocked that I (a hispanic millennial) would be attending his sales pitch. The group was full of white couples in their 60s-70s...it was a timeshare pitch and I was not worth their time or energy. Quite frankly, If I didn't fit your profile maybe the sales team should have not bothered spending all that energy into making us attend. I was pulled out before the meeting began and was told that because my girlfriend was not a attending that I wouldn't be allowed to be part of the pitch. The young lady at the front desk apologized and I was not really bothered by it. I simply went back up to my room. An hour later I got a call from the same front desk gal, apologizing for the inconvenience and that I had a gift waiting for me downstairs. Then I got 2 more calls asking when I would be down to collect my gift. I headed down to the lobby to check out and was sent back upstairs to meet with someone else. I would think at this point I shouldn't be the one having to find the person that wants to speak to me. I went up to meet with their member services representative, she was too busy and I spoke with her assitant. I was given a really insincere apology and they offered me a $50 amex card. I refused the card and simply asked them to credit my $20 back. I was asked if I had my receipt, again thanks for making it feel like I was in the wrong. I will sadly not be recommending this place or any of their locations to a single human being on the face of this planet. The location of the hotel is convenient, there is a large amount of construction going on right outside of it (glad my lady brought her earplugs), and the cool guy at the bar gave good recommendations. That's about it. I should've read the previous reviews on the...
