We were so excited to go to this, and I’m so sad to say it was a big disappointment. We live in castro valley, so the drive was about 45 mins each way. Arriving at 6pm with a 6pm pass, we still had to wait in line for almost 45 mins, only for the entire experience to end in less than 15 mins. At the end my husband said, “is that it?” And it was. And my mom said, “well we’re not doing this again.” I feel so bad because I know it’s a community event, but I had much higher expectations based on what everyone always says.
Several of the displays were either only partially lit or not lit at all. The best parts were the snowflakes in the beginning, and the candy canes towards the end. The whole display should have been to that magnitude. For the $30 admission fee, I expected something much more immersive and festive. Sadly, it didn’t deliver and left us feeling pretty disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend it unless significant improvements are made...
Read moreWe visited Christmas in the Park, thinking it was the same one in downtown San Jose. Since we live far from the Bay Area, we mistakenly assumed this was the downtown location. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience.
For $30, it was just a 10-minute drive-through to see lights, which were not impressive and definitely not worth the cost. Even my 10-year-old commented that it wasn’t worth the money. We were very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place to others.
Instead, I suggest visiting the downtown Christmas in the Park, which offers a much better experience for both...
