We were so excited to go to this, and Iâm so sad to say it was a big disappointment. We live in castro valley, so the drive was about 45 mins each way. Arriving at 6pm with a 6pm pass, we still had to wait in line for almost 45 mins, only for the entire experience to end in less than 15 mins. At the end my husband said, âis that it?â And it was. And my mom said, âwell weâre not doing this again.â I feel so bad because I know itâs a community event, but I had much higher expectations based on what everyone always says.
Several of the displays were either only partially lit or not lit at all. The best parts were the snowflakes in the beginning, and the candy canes towards the end. The whole display should have been to that magnitude. Also the music they tell you to play via FM radio was not synched, so I would have rather played my own Christmas music instead of the typical Michael Buble and Mariah Carey songs they were playing. I was really looking forward to visiting the drive-thru Christmas in the Park, but unfortunately, it was a big letdown. While the lights were synchronized, there were far too few of them, and the displays felt sparse and underwhelming. The entire drive took less than 10 minutes, though itâs possible we were going too fastâbut even at a slower pace, there just wasnât much to see. For the $30 admission fee, I expected something much more immersive and festive. Sadly, it didnât deliver and left us feeling pretty disappointed. I wouldnât recommend it unless significant improvements are made...
Read moreWe visited Christmas in the Park, thinking it was the same one in downtown San Jose. Since we live far from the Bay Area, we mistakenly assumed this was the downtown location. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointing experience.
For $30, it was just a 10-minute drive-through to see lights, which were not impressive and definitely not worth the cost. Even my 10-year-old commented that it wasnât worth the money. We were very disappointed and wouldnât recommend this place to others.
Instead, I suggest visiting the downtown Christmas in the Park, which offers a much better experience for both...
