I give this place five stars only because it makes my mom really happy. My mom is Vietnamese and this is a 100% Vietnamese shopping mall. As some of you may or may not know San Jose has the largest population of Vietnamese people than any other city outside of Vietnam. My mom doesn't drive far so when she wants to go out here I always take her. Her main goal is to stock up on Vietnamese movies. She spends quite a bit of time in the DVD store so while she does that, the rest of us walk around the rest of the mall. You can find a little bit of everything, but they don't have stores like traditional American malls. The stores here have little toys or knick knacks more like what you would find at an auction. There are also stores that sell skin care products, cell phone products, holistic medicines, household goods, and even a place that sells lottery tickets. They also have a lot of high class jewelry stores. We always eat at the same restaurant. I forgot the name of it. It is a little more upscale and it is in the corner right before you get to the strip of the food court. The food there is authentic and I've never been to a Vietnamese restaurant that serves better food. The food court is casual and it runs along one side of the mall. You could find quicker bites to eat there and great Vietnamese coffee. You can also get a lot of great snacks and dried treats (dried meats, dried fish, squid etc) at some of the stores. I was a little disappointed because they closed the bakery that used to be in front but hopefully they're just...
Read moreThis Grand Century Shopping Mall has been around for many years now. I am usually here about at least 3-4 times a month. It is one of the most popular attractions in the Bay Area Vietnamese community. There are approximately 100 Businesses in this Plaza. Ranging from the many Jewelry Stores to Gifts shops, music, Restaurants, Hair/Nails Salons, Bakeries, International Snacks, Healthcare and Beauty Cosmetics, Appliances, Clothing, and Shoe stores, and much much more!!! Some of my favorites Restaurants here includes: Saigon Kitchen, Paloma Cafe, and Rong Bien, which offers Delicious Vietnamese Specialty dishes like Vermicelli Rice Noodles, Hot Pots, and various other Authentic Traditional items. With their impressive Food Court, warms and welcoming Pleasant Environments, and the many beautiful International Festive Displays and Colorful lively Decorations, are some of the reasons why I kept coming back to this Grand Century Shopping Mall. I am always looking forward to the Tet New year Celebrations that is coming up this year and every year! It is truly a joyful gathering with my friends...
Read moreGrand Century Shopping Mall is a lively hub for Vietnamese shops, restaurants, and bakeries. It offers everything from trendy clothing and herbal remedies to unforgettable food options. The food court’s mix of Vietnamese, Korean, and Thai cuisine makes it easy to grab a flavorful bite on a budget.
Parking gets competitive—especially during weekend cultural events like the Vietnamese Republic Celebration—so arriving early is key. Seasonal performances and pop-up markets amplify the energy, drawing crowds from across the Bay. While the vibe is festive, some stores do rotate their inventory unpredictably, and the mall can feel crowded during peak hours. Still, it’s a great place to experience San Jose’s Vietnamese community in action, whether you’re browsing or just there...
