I don’t think I’ve ever left such a negative review for a business. It breaks my heart to do so, especially for a small family owned business in the Vietnamese community, however I felt transparency was very necessary.

Pro’s: Competitive pricing Friendly team Family owned business

Con’s: Subpar quality of work Disorganized Lack of communication Over promises & under delivers

My TLDR overview of the business: I would recommend coming here for gold plating or minor fixtures. I can no longer say that I recommend them for custom projects. Read below for my full experience.

Full story: I customized a diamond tennis bracelet from Victory (highly recommend) & the bracelet ended up being longer than I wanted, so I had them remove 3 diamonds. Unfortunately, Bec the diamonds were too small for her goldsmith, she couldn’t repurpose them into anything aside from a necklace. I really wanted dainty earrings for my second hole, so I came over to Jewelry & Fast Repair.

Jimmy was quick to assist me when my boyfriend & I walked in. Like any sales associate, he was extremely friendly & professional. We felt so confident in his family business’s value proposition, we were considering buying TWO engagement rings through them. Anyways, I explained my vision with the spare diamonds - a pair of single diamond studs, so I really just needed earring backings added to the existing pieces. Simple enough right? Fast forward a week later when it came to retrieving my earrings .. or should I say, earring?

When my boyfriend came to retrieve them, Jimmy was unable to locate the work order. Eventually he located the receipt & told my boyfriend that they haven’t started & that he was 2 hours “too early” (after a whole week?). Two days later, my sister came back to retrieve my earring (singular). She called me instantly as she was extremely puzzled - somehow Jimmy thought I wanted two diamonds on one post .. just a single earring. Jimmy & I chatted & he shared it would take another week - I’m sorry but I had shared with him that I moved across the country & have been inconveniencing my boyfriend & sister on what I thought was a simple task. After explaining my frustration & disappointment, he was able to locate a random backing, have his dad saw off the two connecting diamonds & mend a post on the back in record timing .. & it shows. My sister came back within the hour & was appalled. In addition to the backings being mismatched, one of the arms was completely bent & the crown holding the diamond was melted? It’s as if they literally cut the two diamonds & didn’t bother fixing the crown or making it look presentable.

Though I was not there to observe, my sister said she tried to get Jimmy’s attention to point out the flaws to see if their team can make the earrings look semi presentable, but he kept “acting as if he was busy” & ignored her. She called me & I felt so uncomfortable on how she was being treated that I told her to just leave. A day later, I reached out to Jimmy to share my disappointment & feedback - their family highly values feedback & reviews as you all may know. After sending him a long heartfelt message on our experience, Jimmy failed to own up to any mistakes on his end. He thanked me for the feedback & wished me well, as do I for him & their business.

In summary, since we were so disappointed with the lack of communication, customer service & outcome on such a small project, we do not feel confident returning for any further pieces. My tip to any future customers who are considering coming here, be very transparent - literally, you may have to sketch out what you want. They are extremely punctual with promise date & time, so don’t try to come early otherwise they’ll rush your piece & you may leave...

I’ve had custom jewelry pieces made with them, and right now my partner and I are designing my engagement ring with Johnson, who has been amazing at bringing our vision to life. My partner has purchased a Cuban link bracelet and a rope bracelet here at very fair prices compared to other stores.

They have a solid in-store jewelry selection ready for purchase, but what really sets them apart is their ability to find or custom-make exactly what you’re looking for. I’ve had pieces re-sized, re-plated, and repaired here, and the craftsmanship and service are always excellent.

Passed by the store a few times and finally brought my Engagement ring to size up (ring size) I was hoping to get it done quickly while waiting and that is exactly what happened. Johnston was very direct, helpful, efficiently and effectively assisted all my needs. I was in an out in about 30 minutes and grateful they were able to accept my service. His dad, the jeweler knew what he was doing and his mom and Johnston welcomed me like guest at home during the wait. Price was reasonable for the turn-around-service.
