It’s been very unpleasant to shop here to say the least. Mai and Kieu have nothing but harrassed. I have share video footage of the altercation. On numerous occasion shopping there, Kieu have gave dirty eye look and judgement, is that a welcoming to customers? Not only that she had gossip in her language to her staff and making snarky and harassment comments during our purchases thinking we didn’t understand Vietnamese. When I asked to speak to the superior of Kieu attitude to file a complaint, Mai stepped in and said she’s the manager which I highly doubt that. She stated in Vietnamese which I had to translate in English so my counterpart would know what she’s saying and her respond was we know you shop here a lot, automatically shouldn’t you a store value their customer loyalty? Isn’t that how you make money? Yet she goes on saying we let our staff know who you are and i asked why? Is there a problem? Have i done anything wrong? If there’s issues and I’m not satisfied with my products or services I should be able to vocalize and/or do return. In the receipts clearly states returns policy and i abide to it. You can’t profile and harass for a return and then throw my purchases in the trash and take it out to sell? Is that healthy? Will the health department approve of this misconduct? Videos is present. How are you as a suppose stated in your mission high standard, quality service allow staff to grab stuff in trash to resell. You can look at your store camera footage at customer service. And I bet she didn’t address the Compliants that we want to talk to the STORE MANAGERs and OWNERS!!! One must have to do another write up formally by mail. How do you train your supervisor and managers here at HMart? I only asked that because Kieu and Mai have claimed they are management. Why do they feel so entitled as if they are store managers & owners when clearly they are not. Each time we tried calling they have not let us talk to the STORE OWNERS knowing it’s a complaint. Why are they restricting our calls each time and be transferred to the owners to file complaints but being hang up on? Mai who claims she is the manager have a mean demeanor and never apologize when being pointed, but to justify we sell only fresh fish. If that’s so true why does it smell horribly when being identified? And then for her to say you can’t return anymore and will not let you shop? Is that your mission of HMart when complaints are being address? Is she the manager or lead person? There’s a huge difference. She has not only talk back, but been hostile and yelled back saying we can’t talk to manager of the store until she knows what it is about. Is that so true? I’ve never known of any corporate company such as safeway, 99 ranch or Whole Foods when interviewing them in situations like this. Very disappointed of the service. Perhaps this needs to be taken to court with videos of harassment while shopping. Bc another occasion I asked for store manager and approached the old korean man working in the back warm food area. Thinking he would be of help, instead he went to grabbed to workers thinking 1 of us didn’t understand Korean. He brought Tam and another cashier. Isn’t that harassment while shopping and we aren’t doing anything wrong but shop and pay and the older korean man pointing and telling Tam the cashier to follow and pretending they organizing the fruit section after realizing we understand and as we checked out wouldn’t give us the sales mark down 1/2 price hour. Saying it’s 3 mins shy? Seriously? 3 mins shy? I didn’t have that issues before when it was 22...

I took this bottle and was charged $5.49. I refused. Then their staff insisted that I should look up the barcode number at the bottom right corner of the label to find out "this label and price was wrong" by myself.
Would it be fair if we’re tricked to pay more than we decided to buy this especially when we have more than one item and failed to check out the prices? Isn’t it the seller’s responsibility to label the merchandise correctly?
The item names were different with only one word "sesame" and you know how markets could shorten the name on the tiny labels.
Response:
Thank you but it doesn’t mean that much to me because I found out many people had similar experiences with you. All I want is that you and your staff would understand that we don’t want to pay the higher price not because we want to take that two-dollar advantage of you. We just feel deceived and don’t want to be tricked into buying something.
If matching barcode is so important in your shop, please label the 12-digit numbers really big because I’m not young. Many customers are not young enough for that font on the shelf. Thank you.
Response 2:
I didn’t buy it so I don’t have a receipt. There are hundreds of stores selling hot oil here.
I actually filed the complaint on your website to the customer service you mentioned and got only the automatic receipt of the complaint. Would it be just returning me the price difference if I bought it? Do we have to go though this to get the price matching your labels when so many markets just do so at the first second? Should we always be alerted when shopping in your store?
JUST MATCH THE PRICES ON THE LABELS FOR THE FIRST GUEST AND THEN CORRECT THE LABELS RIGHT AWAY. STOP ARGUING THAT TAKING THE WRONG LABELS YOU PUT SERIOUSLY IS THE GUESTS’ FAULT.
Is it so difficult to take responsibility of your fault...
Read moreFirst time to an h mart, this one is big. They got a bakery inside next to the entrance that has sweet and savory foods. Cakes, croquettes, and pastries. The bakery only takes card, they might take cash if you pay in exact amounts.
Big meat section that is practically 2/3 if not 3/4 the entire back wall. Meats are kind of on the expensive side but inflation and all that right now they're probably $1-$3/lb more. I'm not that into expensive steaks and really only go to Korean markets for hotpot cuts so shabu shabu beef and pork only, not so much grilling cuts.
The seafood section is to the left of it and a section for mandu/dumplings and other frozen foods along the adjacent wall of the seafood section(left side of building). Live, dead, and frozen seafood, very large selection. They'll even cut it up for you if you take a ticket.
Prepared foods and marinated and pickled foods are to the right, profuce are adjacent to that(right side of the building). I bought a pack of their store stir fried anchovy and kimchi, better flavor for the anchovy and I could taste a little sour note in the kimchi so you know that it is allowed to ferment for maybe at least a day or three which is more than koreana plaza probably fresh(two negatives to koreana plaza, I like more a sour and salty taste in kimchi) but it is about the same spiciness which is barely at all, not even jalapeño level. I'll just fix it as usual and let it ferment a couple more weeks in a different container to my liking.
Middle aisles you'll find snacks, drinks, powders, oils, vinegars, extracts, noodles, instant ramen, spices, flour, cooking gadgets, desserts, and plenty of other things.
There is more room to walk in the aisles. Nice and cool inside, the entrance fan is loud though. Just wished we didn't have to...
