Here, the vegetables are fresh and the prices are quite competitive, but they need to pay more attention to the rotten fruits and vegetables and remove what’s gone bad from the bin. The vegetable with visible fungus (which is quite repulsive in my opinion) next to the other vegetables forces the customer to rethink buying the other vegetables or not. There’s a huge risk of contamination or that those other vegetables won’t keep well. In terms of prices for other items, Indian grains, pulses, and teas are a little pricier than other Indian grocery stores- but they do have a huge collection of these items and offer tons of different options and varieties. You can also find unique things from India. Finally, their samosas are best, and I often buy take out food from them as well. This store could be a great Indian grocery store if they simply improved some basic strategies. What I see is that the staffs need to improve basic courtesies and that the people at the cash registers need to greet their customers in a friendly manner. This is not to say that the staff and cashiers aren’t friendly or helpful, but sometimes they can brush you off or be short with you, and I think the shopping experience would be greatly improved with some politeness...
Read moreWent again twice in last two weeks. First time charged for curry leaves and didn't receive in bag. Realized when I got home. Ordered and charged for 2 bhaturas for lunch but when opened package at home got two small puris. Second time again didn't include curry leaves after charging. I checked, complained and they realized it was missing. No apology. This time they also kept a large Cadbury chocolate that I was charged for and didn't realize until home. Seems odd that both times now the cashier is keeping items I'm charged for. all times cashiers are rude and frowning. I went to Wolfe India Bazaar in Campbell and had an amazing completely different experience. The place is clean and organized, the staff is very polite and friendly, the prices are reasonable, and they even have advice about coming back for fresh samosas for my party rather than but today and serve tomorrow. They could have easily sold me the samosas today but chose to build a relationship. Highly...
Read moreThis is my favorite indian store coz they have a good variety and decent prices, but after their expansion, it takes more time to checkout than normal. Coz for the food counter, you have to stand in a huge line even when you have to just pick up rotis. They make you open the wallet and pay there and then for the normal groceries you have to again stand in another line and pay again. These guys are completely out of their mind in managing a Store with a food counter!!! They should rather print price tags at the food counter and stick it on the roti packets/chaat boxes/food containers. That will save everyone time and the customer has to finally open their wallet only once saving a whole lot of people plenty of TIME, which somehow at this store no one seems to care about. Whats the point of expansion when I have picked up same ingredients what I used to previously but have wasted double the time checking...
